I've been listening to early '70's era Eric Clapton quite a bit lately, came up with a riff and tried to write a song that sounds like it could be an outtake from Derek and the Dominoes or 461 Ocean Boulevard.

This was the first time I'd fired up my telecaster and amp for a recording and it felt like sitting in Sun Studios or something. Amazing sound after playing just acoustic instruments for a year. It's the first take and I loved it! This is now…

An old time fiddle tune without the fiddle, or the tune, really, so the vocal has to carry it, and it has that lovely raw propulsion. Written and recorded in an hour.

I'm not sure if this is rockabilly or late 40s jump R'n'B. Dance music though. I had fun with the lyrics and the backing vocals. This is now a tidied up version 18/3/09

A grief song. You know this place. If you don't then move on while you still can. Seriously. Don't click .. This is a tidied up version, I managed to get rid of some of th noise and rebalance the vocals 18/3/09

A happy song about being left by your no-good spouse. There's a word for the attitude in this song but I can't think of it right now ... this is now a tidied up version 18/3/09

When I put these last 3 songs on itunes, my computer did something weird. It told me that these songs were already out there on the internet somewhere. So, in order not to infringe on any copyright laws, I would like to assure everyone that NONE…

I dig this tune. Really mellow and great for a drive...which is where I judge my new music choices..and this one is a winner.

It started with the opening riff. I liked the sound of a twangy guitar riff over a heavy drum loop. The B section has an almost jazzy feel to it. I'm happiest with the bassline.

I’m a photographer who plays guitar and writes songs. My influences run the gamut from Eric Clapton to King Crimson, and I especially like bands like Cheap Trick, Big Star and The Replacements. This year I signed up for the RPM Challenge because I was looking for some motivation to make music. This is the result. I hope you like it.
