Oldie Bear
Worked with a couple of college interns last year who’d never heard of any band I like. I felt like an asshole bragging about going to shows that happened 20 years before they were born.
Lyrics:
Oldie Bear was there at woodstock
Dancin’ through the Pouring rain
He was friends with Jimi Hendrix
They shared a joint of mary jane
Oldie Bear he does relate
‘Bout takin’ Janis Joplin on a date
And Oldie Bear had lots of fun
Takin acid with Jim Morrison
John and Paul and George and Ringo
Were Oldie Bear’s devoted friends
The Sergeant Pepper’s Album cover
Cut Oldie’s picture at the end
Oldie Bear increased the fame
Of singer-songwriter Don Mclean
Oldie even wrote some lines
For Bye-Bye Miss American Pie
Oldie Bear saw every concert
Heard the classic artists sing
Oldie Bear met everybody
Oldie Bear knows everything
Oldie Bear he was a roadie
Working for the Grateful Dead
The wall of sound it only followed
On the long strange trip that Oldie led
Oldie Bear he did not want
To meet the Rolling Stones at Altamont
But he got a backstage pass for free
For providing their security
Oldie Bear saw every concert
Heard the classic artists sing
Oldie Bear met everybody
Oldie Bear knows everything
Oldie Bear he was the sixties
He had a beer with B.B. King
Such encyclopedic knowledge
OLDIE BEAR
HE KNOWS EVERYTHING
OLDIE BEAR
HE KNOWS EVERYTHING
Like the bass line on this one especially. Really fun album, Dave. I like hearing you do different things with your voice. I'd like to hear some more vocal experimentation from you! Excellent RPM!
