This song was written by a guy called Bert Sommer , and perforormed at the Woodstock Festival , he was also in the musical Hair , its said he wrote the song about Jennifer Warnes ( who was also in Hair ), if this song had been included on the Woodstock Movie , he would have become more famous

I don't know the original - at least I don't think I do, it does sounds very familiar - but I do like this version. Lovely vocal, excellent stuff.
