just finished this one, represents a slightly new direction i am taking i think.
i am particuarly proud of the polyrhythmic sound i achieved. i was worried it mite become too cluttered (at the beginning) but i think i achieved clarity.
*totally rough
absolutely no clue what to do with this. i figured if i released it, maybe it would garner some good ideas of how to continue the song and also just force me to have it on my mind in an attempt to motivate me to finish it.

This is new. I'm guessing the vocals is your recording? Seems very interesting. I don't know what else you should add really. I can kind of tell you were trying to avoid a melodic experience so... maybe add some guitar licks that kind of hits the end notes to finish it all off on later vocalization. For randomness and uniqueness.

a culmination of the past few nights, alone, in the dark, a feeling has been lingering and this is my attempt at capturing it.
this is unfinished i think, i feel like something needs to be changed or added or taken away, or that it needs to…
so this song is an old one, one of the first tracks i ever made. it has a long and drawn out beginning and i am not too sure what i think about it (what's new...). anyways, i figured i may as well upload it, it is jsut sitting around anyways…

i just reduced the vocal take that was slightly dissonant, i ended up liking it, but not as present as it was...thanks for the positive re-enforcement s.s. (:

so in listening to my own tune, i realized there was this weird rendering issue with one of the vocal takes, apparently i had incremented the pitch by a 3rd, it had this dissonant quality. i am going to upload a newer version, but if you like the dissonance on the vocal part near the end please do say so. accidents are sometimes good, i am just not sure what i think of it.

thank you! yeah, i think this song totaled 70 tracks and it was definitely a chore fitting all these sounds together without it being too cluttered. definitely a hair puller.

I elected to pursue my theme for RPM 2010 even though, ultimately, I decided not to take part.
So I'm going at my own pace, not trying to produce "finished" works, or to be governed by anything except my experimental muse.
The theme I chose…

2010 RPM Challenge
i like this a lot. the first thing that comes to mind is nostalgia. the loops are very well put together, i found myself just staring off into the middle distance, pushed into some emotions unintentionally by the guidance of this track.
you have a very nice style.
by any chance do you listen to bibio?

i totally appreciate the criticism, and in a way i totally agree with you. as i stated this is an older track, not to mention i lost my hard-drive with the raw recordings :(
but, if i had the choice to change things, that would probably be one of the first things i would do.
this makes me think of an old 70's surrealist movie. waning tones, uncomfortably eerie, something horrible just happened and no one cares.
i want to put visuals to this, i love it.
is that a real cello or midi based (either way it sounds great...
I made this simple song to try out playing an acoustic guitar with an ebow. It works, but it's quite quiet. The movement of the fingers on the fretboard is louder than the sounds. I didn't use any effects on the guitar tracks.
I recorded my voice…
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode
the h4 and h4n are great. the mic's sound beautiful for the price played and most importantly (specifically the h4n) the capability and intuitive design is awesome.
the guitar sounds beautiful on it, and the composition is really well put together. amazing dynamics with your hands, good job!
11. Mermaid
My Casio-tune (for the Casio Challenge) Recorded through a microphone so you can hear me tapping away at the crappy little keys of the SA-3. Since it started to sound very sinister and reminded me also of the sea I wanted to add lyrics…
First draft.
Dedicated to my mother on her birthday.
In the outro: Trombone, Horns, Clarinets, Mouthpiece buzz by Andy Hentz (arrsuarez) and organic drum related sounds by Glu.
i am not even going to bother compliment this...ok i should, it's all around magnificent. fragments of inspiration from everywhere. the vocals sound beautiful and the wall of sound is so big and so active.
well written and well engineered,
seriously.
Something I'm working on. I'm a sucker for 5/4 time these days.
The biggest issue is the vocals which are sort of a placeholder right now until I re-write and re-record them, or maybe even find someone who can actually sing to lay something down!
I love the dark synth in the background. The space created is great and the use of filtering is awesome. The change-up at about 2:25 and the eventual move into a beat at 2:50 do a good job of carrying this along.
Good job.
i just lost someone dear to me too.
hope you are doing well..it is a necessary but horrendous struggle.
...on a positive note, what a great way to explore those feelings.
Instrumentation: fretless bass, tabla, acoustic and distorted acoustic guitar, hang drum samples (courtesy of Sudara), soft synth (AAS Ultra Analog), ambient sample of the jungle (pitched down two octaves) a sprinkle of ebow (from my Sudara files).
Close your eyes, and come with me. It is a warm Autumn eve in the Black Forest. There are ancient folk tales about this magical wood... how late at night it comes to life with mischievious fairies and wood nymphs. Any mortal who hears the unusual…

This is reaslly good, esp. like the detuned gtr (?) in the middle.
whoa apprently something happened here...mono re-uploading...
I kind of like it as it is. It's breezy and laid back.

It is sounding good so far mate very cool.
so what was the feeling anyway?
:)
diggin this. Talk about original. I'm impressed.
I can't imagine what it took to put this together. It's so dense, but it works really well!
Nice one mate cool

Very cool!
Very cool.
This is very original. Nice job on the mix too. 70 tracks deserves some kind of award :)
Dissonant togetherness? Not sure how to describe it, but I love the arrangement. Very professional and clever production!
Another late night beauty.

Drums sound great! This is an awesome mix here. So many sounds and its sculpted together quite nicely. Great work!

great collaborative work. dark and definitely contemplative. top notch song writing, lyrical application is very with it. waiting to hear more.
an absolutely great way to utilize a vocal pad, or is that a sample...wait a real voice recording, i cant tell anymore.

this is so incredibly peaceful. all i can think to say is, thank you.
i really like this, i sort of wish it were longer.
good words, the atmosphere fits it very well, uncomfortably so.

i just think this is great. i have one of these myself, and i have to say, you masterfully chose the sound combination.

great job. it already sounds great, can't wait to hear it once you get the new vocal take in there. great use of 5/4 time, flows so well.

this is great man, the build up is amazingly executed. the wall of distorted sound at the end is equally as mugasmic
some of these hits sound beautiful. what a great opportunity to record unique sounds..
mmm, beautiful, what an imaginative composition. playful, mystical and fun.
