The two of them were seated, holding hand in hand,
Other couples passed and smiled, they had their futures planned
Differences forgotten, their love could conquer all
The life they’d live would shine a light, they knew they’d heard the call.

It was early in December; a snowflake fell too soon,
The light was swiftly fading, haloed round the moon,
The snow unnoticed melted, in their lovers heat,
Knowing what they did was right, their lives were now complete..

They didn’t see the killer, how could they know his mind,
They didn’t know his madness or see the hatred in his eyes
The gun he held was loaded, he didn’t make a sound.
And then their dreams and hopes were spilt, in the blood upon the ground

When the policeman found them they were still sitting, sitting hand in hand,
Their dreams and hopes were spattered, in the blood upon the ground,

There is no moral to this story, no truths upon this song,
Except hatred often shatters dreams its all its ever done.
