Shostakovitch is on the edge of too modern for me (my loss), but this was a nice piece, wonderfully played. I love the rubato here, makes it very contemplative and thoughtful. Brava!
ooh, love the fun chord bounces here, very enjoyable... sort of unclassifiable, as if F. Liszt did ragtime boogie. The recording sounds a little "dark" or muffled, may need to boost the treble to get more sparkle on the high keys. Nice piece here!
A simple 3-part "round" or canon with variations, showing my children how you can devise a melody that can stack on top of itself like offset puzzle pieces, which will then make its own harmony (with a nod to the master of rounds and fugues, J…
Thanks for the comment (re: muffled & treble boost) - I definitely do not know what I am doing with recording yet :) The piano in this piece definitely sparkles! Lovely playing and composition.
i started writing this song 5 years ago and finally recorded it this year. sad to say, but my $$ situation isn't that much different. this is a whiny song from a liberal-arts grad who is a brat and can't really make ends meet in NYC.

This was the first time I'd fired up my telecaster and amp for a recording and it felt like sitting in Sun Studios or something. Amazing sound after playing just acoustic instruments for a year. It's the first take and I loved it!

Great performance. The mix seemed a little low in volume but it sure has nice fidelity!

Lovely playing style... and it is always exciting to find classical composers! (I am up in the Bay Area)
Also, word, peanut butter dinners :)
I like the smoky vocals on this, sounds great with the drums
The trumpet on this is great - it flows, doesn't sound forced at all
I really like these vocals
