The theme for Improv Friday this week is "variations". So here's an improv reconstruction of the one classical piece I know, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.
A friend of mine once called this kind of jam session "noodling", as in "straight from your noodle (pointing to his head) to the guitar". This is a primo "noodling" session.

Song #2 for the RPMC. My goal is to have 12 short tunes (1-3 minutes long), so I need to pick up the pace.
Again, quartal tuning on the top 3 unison pairs of the 12 string. I've been listening to Ralph Towner's Blue Sun, hence the title.

Ditty #9 for the RPMC album "Bones".
I'd had this rolling around in my head for about a year now, and even played it live with the SD&Q trio. Didn't quite turn out as planned, which is not unusual.

really not much synth, all experiments with effects over guitars and then stretched or feedback recording problems that turned into dial tone like drone sounds. Awesome either way you brought it, dude!
The song...how it should be and will remain except needs better mixing and mastering. This is what it will sound like on the album just about. Which is going to be titled "Cryptical Condition".
Sitting around in my shop a couple of days ago with the Goodall and the Zoom H4N. First time I've really messed with using the internal mics on the H4N in multitrack mode

The Hentai track in the middle reminds me of Miles Davis in his electric period, without the horn. I meant to mention that in the program but forgot...thanks HIO
Well, it's like I went down town last night to see Guthrie playing with Ray and I came home with a song.
NOBODY KNOW ME IN TOWN ANY MORE Capo @ 1 in G

He can’t hear the music that’s sweeping…

Enjoying a few tracks on this site with Indian flavor lately. My brothers legs were so red from slapping them to get the perc sounds in this track, I had to laugh, That alone was worth doing the song ;)
Enjoy # 92
Spicy percussion provided by Norm
Another slice of Reaktor based weirdness from the particle collider ensemble I am tentatively naming TMA-2.
You can't tell from how it sounds I guess but the latest development is that particle energy now governs velocity, i.e. more energetic…
Thanks to Sister Savage for helping us debut our new project. As busy as she is, Sister managed a bit of time and some great Jovian vox for us.
This piece or art is unique, sublime, and psychedelic.

well I thiiink it was one of the maaaany times in which we would go down to the pMundo beach by the river build a fire, burn one (a couple) down and jam out loud, where I came up with this beautiful chord progression. It was then about a week…

Nice one mate
This was excellent. One of my many failings is the inability to fingerpick anywhere near as well as this. Well done. ER

This is pretty twisted stuff, but I like it. Deserves more listens.
ZZTop called. They want their car back! :0D
Stunning fingerstyle. Hope you come out of recording hibernation soon.
Yeah, Kirk. Bill has a mindlink with his octave pedal. He's such a badass too.
Brill. Wished it was longer.
That's cool. Who played sax?
Yes she do. LMAO!
@NebulonicAlchemy Using Logic express. With all the good feedback, thinking about doing another, maybe in the fall. Thanks!

You're a star to many, JMT, know it or not. But I know that feeling ...
Thanks, yawl. I am fortunate to have many talented friends, at alonetone, and in the "real" world.
Enjoyed that, indeed.
You should develop some iPhone/Pod apps like this. Cool.
Finally someone wrote a song in the Elvish language (no, not Elvis!). I've always suspected Sister Savage is really Arwen.
Nice nice very nice!
Thanks for commenting. I missed these when they first came thru, good songwriting and arrangements. Keep on!
