GOOD-BYE
I don't want to say good-bye
But I have to go
Catch the train that's heading West
Do another show
I don't want to make you cry
There's no other way
Give your weary head a rest
Carry on the day
- Don't know how to say good…
GOOD-BYE
I don't want to say good-bye
But I have to go
Catch the train that's heading West
Do another show
I don't want to make you cry
There's no other way
Give your weary head a rest
Carry on the day
- Don't know how to say good…

ASTRAL PROJECTION
Out of body, separated, as I travel on, ascending high, a photon in the realm of light between the here and there, and twix the now and then, beyond the worlds of suns, with angels, cherubims, I loosen not the silver cord…
excellent song,.. these lyrics make me think. thinking about how that silver cord I let go of long long ago.. :) most interesting song but maybe I should never let go of the astral umbilical cord back to ground and my body .. ? I will never know.
FEEL THE TIME
Feel the time is rushing by,
I feel the time is near
Feel the time is crushing down,
I feel the time is here
That is how the world goes round,
that is how it goes
Just a question, when and how,
and that no one knows…
My approach was to leave Greg as the major part of the equation. This is why I didn't make the bass too prominent, why the electric guitar is soft with much space in between, subtle keyboards, and my voice kept in the background. What I added was a bit of seasoning -- this version is still very much the magic of Mr. Connor.
"Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die,
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly" ~ Langston Hughes
DREAMS
Hold on gently to your dreams
Or else your dreams could die
Like unto an injured bird
For battered wings, they will not…
My bird wants to soar! I've been holding onto her for a while just petting her and admiring her but she really wants to fly high! I just don't want anything to happen to her or to lose track of her.
This recording was revised 8/7/2014 with sound effects (train and whistle) and wah-wah guitar.
WRECK OF NINETEEN THREE
People listen to me tell you
Of the story of a man
Roamed the country in a school bus
People called him Danville Dan…
Vocals by Greg Connor, lyrics by Connor and Merry Bear, music by Bear.
And y'all thought the Hokey Pokey was what it was all about! This song is 4 dimensional – up/down, left/right, in/out, now/then. BIG THANKS to Greg Connor for fabulous vocals…
MID SUMMER
A mid-Summer's night's dream
The days are slipping by
Amid the rushing stream
I take the time to cry
The end is hurling near
I stand with open arms
I sing the tunes I hear
While falling for her charms
She is why I'm…
WALKING ON THE MOON
See the Earth on horizon
Watch the Earth as she's arising
I hope the living are gazing
I hope the people are loving
Feel like I'm walking on the moon
I think I will be on there soon
My body's going to set me free…
Lyrics, vocals, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and acoustic bass by Merry Bear. Fabulous and greatly appreciated harmonica performance by "Minneapolis" Mark Imsdahl.

MAD AND SAD AND SCARED
I just want to get by for a friend
This is not how I would want to end
Mad and sad and scared
In everything I've shared
That is all I leave behind me
This is all I am
Hope I find a way
To kiss you every day
That…

a Mash from this weeks sound-in.org workings..
Chris Vaisvil on guitar.. 22-edo interlude with the piece Washes in threes by Norbert Oldani and the big bass line by Glenn Smith
I like it when the music escapes the box and then makes a mad dash to get several yards away from that damn box. Very colorful - I dig the scene you paint with sounds. Dig the taste as well. Nice texture. Music should have texture when you're biting into it.
this was made in audacity because acid keeps on crashing when I go to save a composition very annoying :( but I was able to render the sounds in audacity minus the first 20+ minutes that were lost to bad acid.. acid studio 8
Trippy. Sci-Fi-ish. Reminds me of this time in the '70s when I came across these mushrooms in a cow field in Texas, and the next thing I knew, I was being abducted and probed by aliens. Groovy compilation of sounds -- Rock on!
"Hey Motorman" was written for the 100 year celebration of the Ariel Lift Bridge.
The bridge was originally built in 1907 with a gondola that went from side to side carrying passengers and vehicles. It was later replaced with a lift system.
I dig the strumming style, and particularly enjoyed the bass line, and the lead guitar was sweet, tasteful, and choice. An all around good groove. Rock on!
THAT'S "messing around?!" Sounding damn right professional to me. You can really stich together some tasty grooves! You have some mad mix down/mastering skills! Rock on!
I dig that strumming style! The vocals ROCK! Some sweet lead guitar licks happening here. Great recording job on the drums. Y'all truly got it together -- ROCK ON!
Can you imagine the uproar if they weren't ???........The drums have taken over.....what can i say!!.....what to try first?...I know I'll try a drum solo!!...Why Not?.....Watch out Ginger :dance4:
Damn good sounding digital drums! They must have cost you a fist full of pretty pennies! You play them quite well -- them some mighty fine beats! Rock on!
