Sometimes magic happens. Sometimes it even happens to me.
Open D tuning (low to high D A D G A D). Just a practice session where I had the guts to press record.
No drugs. Just beer with dinner. Maybe they put something in the creme brule…
so Airport Columns.. and Opened... I think these might be my two favorite MMI tunes at the moment. This one is magical. I imagine a caravan of nomads wandering through the Serengeti desert in search of a waterhole, but the electronic ambiances suggest that it's some kind of computer-generated dream... like I'm really laying in an isolation tank in someone's laboratory.
Ambient guitar with generous reverb served up on a bed of glitched up vocal samples.

okay. so i listened to this one again. I was in the wrong state of mind the first time around. the voices are telling me to ask you if this can be imported into Live 7?

This site is getting way too creepy. This could accompany a brooding cityscape, slowly zooming in on a horrific scene of "SOMETHING". Absolutely brilliant.

oh wow, the ebow sounds great, especially around 02:30! *jealous. hmmm.. my analog ebow cannot achieve such silky smoothness without getting doused in verb

I've been listening to the output of my *Reichenbach* Reaktor ensemble all morning as it loops and phase shifts a recording of Erik Satie's solo piano piece Gnossiennes-1
I find it to be quite beautiful and entrancing and I decided to render…
Another in my series of experiments with the Reaktor ensemble Metaphysical Function.
I used two instances of Metaphysical Function to generate a soundscape that was bounced to audio, chopped up, and re-arranged.
The whole thing was rather…
Another experiment with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' only a bit longer this time.
Again Reaktor is the only instrument at work here although it's going through a mastering chain including Space Designer with a very short impulse…
Makes me think that it would be interesting to hear this before it got crushed to mp3. But maybe that would be too scary?
Very cool, even if I have to hide under my desk.
Instrumentation: fretless bass, tabla, acoustic and distorted acoustic guitar, hang drum samples (courtesy of Sudara), soft synth (AAS Ultra Analog), ambient sample of the jungle (pitched down two octaves) a sprinkle of ebow (from my Sudara files).
We're deep in the glitch mines again.
This time with a beat developed in Stylus RMX, a "melody" using Soniccouture Skiddaw stones and Tonehammer Frendo, and a bass from Soniccouture Abstrakt Bass.
The beat was fed through The Finger with…
A little experiment building a sound with the Reaktor ensemble 'Metaphysical Function' which is an awesome sound generating instrument.
Reaktor is the only instrument/effect in this track. I built it using Live 8.0.5 which I am also experimenting…
Experimenting with my piano/keyboard skillz and a first attempt at record clapping. Needs a good go over with some quality drums and some better arranging. Everything sounds very "synthy" on account of I don't have any quality VSTi at the moment.
I told the [good Sister](http://alonetone.com/sistersavage) that I wanted to try using vocals in a track and she offered to do me some abstract, stylized, vocals that I could play with and this little number is the result.
Working with wet (pre…
From the archives. Traditional Irish slow air. Myself on the Uilleann pipes with synth backing. This was recorded at a concert here in Weston back in I think '92. Originally recorded on an ancient 4 track machine and then transferred to cassette…
Poured myself a small cup of acoustic guitar, half finger picking, half ebow. Nothing fancy, nothing magical, nothing fantastical, just something to relax through.
This song is actually part 2 of a 10 minute set I did on my laptop. I broke it into 3 separate songs. Part 1 and 2 were my favorites, as part 3 just based itself on a copyright free sample I did nothing with. I like this one most because of the…
Welcome to my 300th Alonetone upload! I sit with a pile of books to read in a house full of boxes and my studio is not even completely set up; however, I had no choice but to write and record this tune today once the sun went down. This song is…
One of the things about my [Glitching Satie](http://alonetone.com/sandbags/tracks/glitching-satie-1) track that I wasn't comfortable with was that it wasn't my recording that I was using. But I'm nowhere near good enough to play a piece like Gnossiennes…

This has a really nice innocent quality about it. Great stuff!
yeah, this is a very affective piece. One of my MMI favorites...
OK...I am really losing it...this actually just made me blub.
I DO like it, but then I go for these kinds of guitar oddities. "Talent enhancer"? I want one of those.

This one grew on me as it went along. The 'verbed guitars are very nice. I expect to hear more of them in due course ;-)
Haunted library! Something's going to happen...and it's not just a twist in the tale...
Some of the single line guitar stuff has an almost horn like quality- very cool
This sounds out of this world...literally. Very enjoyable.
OK- I'm going back to playing electric again!. Great stuff

when A.I. takes over the world!
Wow. Beautiful, grimy, like someone giving a last salute to a barge full of gravel going over a waterfall.
Fascinating stuff. Works well!
This works really nicely. Some great industrial sounds here. Nice.
whos playin wiv u? v goood... D is for Diane Goddess of life in Rome Italy...
Lovely. Almost new age meets lounge! Only cool!!
Nice gentle groove!! Yeah- Maj 7 chords are the deal!

man. what do you say? how about Wooh!
Very, very nice. In the playlist of my mind this track is followed by Supertramp. Weird, I know.
Very soothing. I could listen to this all day... I might just try.
Superb work. On your way to churning out the club hits :-) /me ducks the shoe :-)
exquisite e-bow elegance elevates every element
Makes me think that it would be interesting to hear this before it got crushed to mp3. But maybe that would be too scary? Very cool, even if I have to hide under my desk.
Bravo! Bravo! Maestro! Encore!
No idea how I missed this before but holy moly it's great. I have a vision of robot glitch miners line dancing :-)
This is a very cool and creepy toy. I want one too!
This is the opening to a big movie, right? Camera moving slowly through a New England town in the autumn; red leaves blowing around...
mega holy crap AWESOME!
/me sits stunned incredibly moving
I've been waiting for a long time to hear the ebow on the acoustic. Definitely does not disappoint. Super cool sound and super cool track.
Proving once again that those of us caught up in the gear lust have got our priorities all wrong... great track.
Golly, them's some scary bubbles! Awesome.
hey this cleaned up well. The opening vox reminds very 80s :-) Triggered a funny association.
Special stuff.
mmmmm, very very very nice
