Blackbeard's Ghost (w/ Bethan Mathis)
moschell
Another song I worked on for Bethan Mathis. She had come up with this funny song, and asked for some music to go along with it. I got a bit carried away, but I think it all works. Since Bethan has recently removed her account, she gave me permission to upload this song to mine.
Lyrics/main vocals - Bethan
Everything else - Moschell
There’s an Inn not far from here
Where they’re always out of beer
Forever full with no-one there
Come along and join us if you dare.
Jigging music plays all night
Wouldn’t be fun without a fight
Just keep dancing without care
It doesn’t matter anyway, there’s no-one there.
A topsy turvy life you’ll see
The sailor sitting on the whench’s knee
Where the grog’s free and your host
Is a ringer for Blackbeard’s ghost.
Above it flies the Jolly Roger
That won’t attract another lodger
Don’t forget your pieces of eight
Though you’re early, you’ll be too late.
A night at the Inn is fun and thrilling
Where a bed will cost a shilling
It’s too small and far too large
With no breakfast free of charge.
A topsy turvy life you’ll see etc.
In the night you’ll hear the laughs
or is it just the whistling draughts
Hide your head under the sheet
You’ll be fresh in the morning and be dead beat.
The Inn is neat and such tip
It looks just like a sailing ship
When the books are in arrears
it sails out to sea and disappears.
A topsy turvy life you’ll see etc. x2
