Outside
This is a collaboration with a prolific chap called James Higgins (oldrottenhead on songcrafters.org), based on an instrumental of mine from a couple of years ago: http://alonetone.com/andyr/tracks/muletide
I was quietly minding my own business last christmas, recording a nice little love song for my missus: http://alonetone.com/andyr/tracks/now-that-youre-sleeping
Right in the middle of it, an email arrived with “I’ve done a rough vocal for your Muletide instrumental, hope you don’t mind…”
My first thought was “wot’s he done? There’s no bluddy room on that thing for a vocal…” but I gave it a listen and was astounded at what he’d achieved. So I sent back a “get me a clean, dry vocal track and I’ll see what I can do…”.
I loaded it up with the original mix of Muletide, surrounded him with my backing vox, and here we go: a rather suspicious tale of possibly over-obsessive behaviour… lol
Outside - A A J Russe & J Higgins
They told me that I had to stay away
That’s something I can’t do
Oh no
Babe I’m coming for you
I’m outside
Looking up at your window
I’m outside
On the street below
I’m outside
Can’t you see
I’ve come back, come back for you
I’ve come back, come back for you
There’s nothing they can say or do
To keep you from me
To keep you from me
Oh baby
I’m coming back for some more
They told me that I had to stay away
That’s something I can’t do
Oh no
Babe I’m coming back for you
I’m outside
Looking up at your window
I’m outside
On the street below
I’m outside
Can’t you see
I’ve come back, come back for you
I’ve come back, come back for you
Well hallelujah
You’re looking back
Is that a smile on your face
Oh baby
You must be glad to see me
You get the door and I’ll be right up
In fact, I still have your key
Oh baby
I still have your key

That's an amazing contribution by ORH. What a vox! Andy, you did a great job w the instrumentation, playing, and production. Seamless and rockin'! DD
