Ip Man

A loose variation of theme from movie “Ip Man” originally composed by Kenji Kawai. Modestly performed by JC Prophets band.

Ip Man was a Gradmaster of Wing Chun(southern Chinese kung-fu) and he is widely known as a Bruce Lee’s SiFu(teacher). Wilson Yip’s movie portrays his life during the Second World War and Japanese intervention in China.

Little verse is:
“Heavy rain patters on the empty streets
Only strikes on a wood echo in the hall”,
which refers to traditional Wing Chun training on mook yuan jong - the wooden dummy.
