The Morning Came
lyrics - t boudreau
music j. tramontano, t. boudreau
If i thought i needed more it’d be for selfish reasons
If i didn’t think that i had it all i’d be kidding myself
So whats ever left out there it’s for your taking
Remember greed is piled high on everyones shelf
And you swore to me that the world would end tomorrow
You promised me that the sky would crumble and fall
And i must admit i was a little bit dissapointed
When the morning came and nothing had changed at all
You can look both ways before you start your crossing
You can spend the rest of your days watching from the curb
You can keep your sofa safe underneath clear plastic
Just don’t ask me i think it’s all absurd
And you swore to me that the world would end tomorrow
You promised me that humanity would crumble and fall
And i must admit i was a little bit dissapointed
When the morning came and nothing had changed at all
Well i went and got myself caught in your headlights
Frozen in the middle of the road in the middle of my life
The fact i needed someone to follow should’ve made me think twice
But second guessing is a lesson thats been messing with me most of my life
And you swore to me that the world would end tomorrow
You promised me that the stars would crumble and fall
And i must admit i was a little bit dissapointed
When the morning came and nothing had changed at all
Really nice!!
I really like the guitar work here, particularly as you come out of the chorus.
