Thank you Richard. How refreshing, I love your take on this most illustrious piece.
This is one of the most delicious pieces of music I have ever heard on Alonetone or anywhere else for that matter!
Happy Christmas
Bethan x
one cool thing about piano pieces is that they lend themselves to being rearranged for other instruments, since the piano encompasses the entire range,,, this is a pared down version of my last weeks submission le baiser apres-midi = the afternoon…
I was lucky enough to have a trip to YAP a part of the Federated States of Micronesia,, once again the music is from my piano solos but here it is attached to a video i made
http://youtu.be/GatB07PVCsw
Thanks for the comments on darkness, The background/ foreground feel was done by recording mono tracks and then coming in with the contrasting stereo tracks for the open parts with vox
This is the first time I picked up and tried to play a guitar that is in 88 cent equal temperament - the tuning does not contain an octave. Since this was the first time I made some mistakes. Nonetheless I think it sounds interesting.
beautiful song that captures one of those special moments that find us,, touch us with the magic of family,, well played,, i have missed hearing your music of late Richard

Rough sketch of a proposed dreamy 12 string piece that I couldn't pull off on the 12 string so did this quick electric version with vocal pads. Not sure of the recording quality- sounds OK in my cans and kinda crappy on my monitors. Recorded march…
I played 12 string guitar and 5 string bass along with Norm's original percussion track http://alonetone.com/norm/tracks/7th-son. The only effects were a bit of attack shaping on the bass (compression w/o compressing).
I did this kind of oddly…
After Creation is an entry into the Vox Novus 15 Minutes of Fame competition for flute and marimba duet. Unfortunately the entry was not accepted for performance but undeterred I present to you a performance of the score rendered by Garritan…
This track was created as part of the October 2010 Alonetone 24 hr challenge. The challenge is to make 24 minutes of original music in one 24 hour period.
he's not blown away like a stray star
he's not stolen clean away by a fast car
but…
interesting piece,, i found it drawing me in not by note,, very Bach like in form/feel,, you say improv, is it in fact based on another piece?... in any event it's very pretty.. and does seem very Easterish to me,,, well done your friend R
I thought a microtonal piece almost completely in absynth would be a decent goal. So, I improvised bass, lead, chords, effects in 19 notes per octave against a sequence of drum loops run through effects. Then - just to see the difference I took…
interesting listen,,, very different,, im enjoying this not because it's the typical stuff, but rather because once again you are leading me off into musical directions that are new.. thanks R
Reg is in the cellar, it's early morning he is back in what seems the inevitable empty bar. To the Barman Reg sings his sad song ........................
i really like the musical underpinnings of this,, this piece has a rich full feeling,, another great story line,, like ive mentioned before, i think your a great story/word smith,,, very nice
you definitely have a new fan here,, well played, composed music all around,, if you have any videos of you preforming, id be neat to post them here,, ps gota love those guitar riffs cheers Richard
This is a short piece written for a friend who is developing a computer game for his degree. It needed to be loopable, hence the abrupt start and finish! Still a work in progress so i'd appreciate any comments about making it better
let see if i can contain myself and say this in a reserved British manner
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowieeeeeee!!
guess i can't
anyway a most amazing piece of music,, it's well written,, well,, performed, well mixed wonderful sound quality,, on my second listen,, the lyric quality/style storyline is great,, it's one of those pieces that though is fresh and new, already seems to have a classic feel.. well played
> First there was Spring Time. Then there was Summer.
> Then there was Autumn.

> And then there was Winter. Her daddy mowed lawns
> She was a smart little doll
> River loved Winter. His dad was a singer
> But River…
This is simple test of East-West symphonic choirs solo soprano voice and East-West Hollywood strings contra-bass. I feel its a bit reminiscent of Lord of the Rings - of course, your mileage may vary - it is a very simple and direct arrangement…
Chris, pretty nice, nice deep mellow sound on the bass,,,,the voice is also pretty good, i think i like it better than that of symphonic instruments,,,but i have not found myself doing well, ever, when trying to work with solo voice,,, i enjoyed this R

Just what I needed today.
Snow falls so, quietly begins and ends quietly, too.
Brilliant!
