My 100th upload to Alonetone!
I played a pretty random arpeggio which I arranged into 3 versions of medium notes, long notes, and short notes followed by a gap. I cloned these version and transposed them up and down one octave respectively…

Here's to insignificance my friend. May you never be squashed like a bug.
Instruments used: Kontakt, LoopShifter, Stylus RMX
Effects used: Eos, DubStation, Replicant, Augustus Loop
Increasingly I think the music I am making is less about sound design and more about expressing some of the things inside of me that want out. I guess I may be starting to know what I want.
This one started with a beat (using Stylus RMX to…
I see the entry to the exit, to a special place. But why through a window? :-) Ah! This is such an idea, clear. Seriously: to become a complete art piece it should be longer, and should go down into the coda at the end, as I see it. Working on it?
A second outing for my new Reaktor ensemble codenamed "BD". This time I used only once instance of the ensemble but noodled around through a series of samples allowing the guided-randomators to vary the speed, grain density, and grain length…

Like being in the belly of a machine that's desperately trying to live.
Liking the light at around 3 mins 10, sounds like hope amongst the feeding frenzy.
(You should definitely consider getting in to incidental horror music.)

Yeah, that was interesting to say the least.
How oh earth do you do that. Sounds like some undiscovered species on an eating spree. You would be great for sound effects on creepy movies.
The exquisite bass was performed by my friend Edo Castro, but everything else was done on a Waldorf XTk.
In fact, originally the bass line was from an entirely other recording. What I did was to mute the other tracks and record all new ones…
For the upcoming Mobtown Modern show "Low Art" next Wednesday, Brian Sacawa will perform (among other pieces in the jumbo saxophone repertoire) "Maknongan" by Giacinto Scelsi (performed on bari sax). For the event, Brian asked me to create a remix…
Today I gave a quickie demo of Live to my guitar instructor. I started with an empty set and threw some crap at the wall just to show him one of the work flows.
Later, when I brought the thing home I couldn't leave well enough alone and started…

This time with a beat developed in Stylus RMX, a "melody" using Soniccouture Skiddaw stones and Tonehammer Frendo, and a bass from Soniccouture Abstrakt Bass.

Uploaded a new version which fixes the drums although there's still a feedback problem (related to MIDI timing I think) that needs to be fixed in a final mix.

Okay this is the problem with mixing being "throw a mastering channel strip on it, bounce, upload". At some point about the 2 minute mark the drums track have cut out - probably overloaded Reaktor again. So then you get 2:30 that is largely just the bass.
A little study using Dmin6 and Dmin7 with a little D dorian dressing.

When you do this kind of track it evokes a feeling of travelling without moving.
It reminds me of being a passenger in a car on a motorway at night, slightly tired and letting the world glide, carelessly, past me.
I've always liked that feeling.

Stop! Motion! It has to happen. Sinister and clever (as usual). Congrats on 100 uploads! Here's to another 100.
Happy 100th Bags.

Mmm. A beautiful overture.
So, about this special place ..... Yeah I know who I am, is it me?
Intriguing and mystical.
Love it. Reminds me a little of my first time playing Halo but better.
From a "Rustles" cycles, mysterious Matt.
