Gnossiennes-1 Reiched

I read about the technique, used by Steve Reich, of playing multiple copies of the same audio at different speed to create phase differences.

I decided to do a little experiment and built myself a Reaktor ensemble using 3 granular sampler units running at 0.5x, 1.0x, and 2.0x looping over a section of Eric Satie’s Gnossiennes 1 for solo piano.

Other than feeding it into the Reaktor SpaceMaster reverb that’s all she wrote. I let it loop around for a while and listened to the results.

I found it quite pleasing so I decided to upload it in case anyone else was interested.

I wonder what that would do to a guitar........ Real nice.

cannot tell Reich from wrong here, the overlapping music waves ebb and flow, and leave shells of beauty on the shore of my mind. a wonderful experiment, a sideways fugue, perhaps.
