Another lovely Monroe-Robinson collaboration. This one was originally titled "It's There For Us," but when Robbie's wife really liked the line "it's simple and easy to say the words that keep us alive" in a draft version, Leum was happy to retitle…
Mike's fun rockabilly follow-up to Scammers, Spammers, and Cons from a previous RPM Challenge.
We recorded the drums, bass, one rhythm guitar track, and a scratch vocal take live off the floor, then added the other guitar tracks and a clean…
Another lovely song from Leum. He's prolific, that one is!
It was fun to collaborate on lyrical tweaks for this one, working together to tighten up a solid draft into a rich, compact song.
For recording, we used a couple of condenser mics…

Mike Anders - Vocals, acoustic guitar
Matt Appleberry - Electric guitar
Kenny Tannehill - Bass, background vocals

June 17th, Leum brought to the studio a lovely, plaintive reflection on lost love. He recorded a solid first take, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, then invited the rest of us to fill out the production as we saw fit. Margaret added some…
When we assembled at the studio for our first REM Challenge 2023 recording session, Nick offered up a MIDI guitar piece he had been working on. Kevin, being chronically underprepared, did not have any decent sounding guitar VSTs installed on his…
Leum dropped off these lyrics at the April REM Challenge recording session, to see what other folks would do with them. At the first May recording session, we scanned through the lyrics and decided to try to put them to music. Robbie had a couple…
I like the shorter outro. It features fewer of my mistakes. We needed another day to get it right. But we ran out of May. We Need Another Day. I think you were right Kevin that that needs to be a song title. Maybe in June! I have another cord progression on the voice recorder in my phone. But I need some lyrics that should preferably include, “We Need Another Day“.
Maggie’s beautiful, heartbreaking hymn to loved ones lost too soon.
The intense, somber feeling of loss, both individual and communal, and support in the room as the other 6 or 7 of us listened to Maggie and Sara Beth perform the first take…

This one started as a busier version of Leum’s song When Do You Show It. I added drums and a bass part to his vocals and acoustic guitar, and Hayden later pitched in with a distorted guitar part. I sent Leum mixes of three different versions…
I piled up a bunch of scraps from all four (!) RPM Challenge 2018 recording projects I was involved in, threw on some effects, and made a weird casserole. :)
Billy C., Sandy C., James C., Kenny T., Bill J., Philip P., Dan H., Robbie R. - Various…
Heh. :)
The first two verses are about a local town (Decatur, AL) with notorious sewage/drainage and chemical problems. The third verse is about a literal poop train that stunk up north Birmingham and Parrish, AL for weeks at a time within…
Having once lived there and experiencing rain water flooding into my house three different times because the city can't keep their drains cleared, this song really hits home.
Another Sweepers original. Thanks, guys! (Not sure where the occasional snare ring is coming from, but I didn't have time to track it down...)
Willis ??? - vocals, guitar
Tommy U. - guitar
Bob P. - bass
Jonny P. - drums
Kevin C. - recording…
Ah, a true group effort!
John J. had the idea to record a song on drums, then hand it off to the rest of the group to build off of. I took him up on the challenge, adding rhythm guitar and bass tracks one night at the studio. Kenny had some…

One never knows what the finished product of a silly ditty song like this will sound like...but...I thoroughly loved making it & how it turned out. Great job on this one.
Aiden was excited to record this Five Nights at Freddy's poem this time around, and specifically requested that I add weird effects to it. Mission accomplished (I hope)! :)

This is great. I will need to redo my vocal part to correct a flubbed line.
Once again, our Adhocracy is a beautiful thing. Thanks so much for the group effort!

This really well done. Vocals and music are nice and clear. Thank you for sharing this. ;-]
I look forward to hearing more!
The lyrics and melody are hauntingly beautiful! Many people can relate to this song in a variety of ways! Wonderful!
Kevin - I love this. Just hearing for the first time. Thanks, Leum
Nice Mix Kevin....
This is great....I hear lots of out takes from "You ain't gonna hurt me no more"

My favorite Sweepers track ❤️
I can't wait to let Rebecca hear this one when she gets home today. Again...Magnificent work Kevin.

Aiden listened intently to his song, smiled frequently, now he is a punk rock icon thanks to you !
