I'm a Black Cat's Worst Nightmare
Will Stelter
I boarded up windows,
Fixed the cracks on my sills
And I, bought a new pair of scissors,
Cut away scattered seams,’ so it seems
I took a vacation,
Away from the dark creaks, floor boards in my eyes
And it’s been a long, been a long, been a long, long long time,
Since the shallow breathing of lungs, felt this fine,
Maybe it, maybe I, feels quite right again,
To be buried up to my waist in snow,
The dire wolf, sewn to my shoulders,
Has been snarling, out of control
I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried,
Holding his mouth shut
Everytime, everytime, everytime.
He snaps back,
The urge to bite, urge to bite, urge to bite
Desperately grows, oh.
I’ve broken down boxes, painted my headboard,
Black like coal,
I’ve replaced such a dull sky, one painted amber,
Blood red like the moon,
Call it vain, shout like burnt god,
Keep all that you wrote,
Now my eyes, now my eyes, now my eyes,
Forcefully open, to all that was missing, under the broom,
I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried,
Holding his mouth shut
Everytime, everytime, everytime.
He snaps back,
The urge to bite, urge to bite, urge to bite
Desperately grows, oh.
I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried,
Holding my mouth shut
Everytime, everytime, everytime.
I smile back,
The urge to bite, urge to bite, urge to bite
Desperately grows, oh.
I almost faved it on the title alone before listening. Superb title. And the song doesn't let it down... knew it wouldn't... I love the groove. And how your vocal works that reverb in the verses.
One of my favorites so far. I like the repetition! Great job as always
Just love the chorus on this.
Well done.
