Man Of Means
Will Stelter
I am a man, of means,
I mean I hide behind my strongest teeth.
White Ivories, white ivory.
I tread on hollow ground,
Broken glass, and longer ways down.
Than metaphors, engulfing me
I stare up at night,
Wonder who else might feel such a fright,
Inside, oh in such clear sight.
Enough, enough,
Lets get to the point
Enough, enough
Past the point of no return
There’s shadows on my windowsill again,
I’ve set sail so many times, in my mind
Take the overly blessed, prince and his princess
No robin hood, I’d rob them blind.
I am a man, of deeds,
Just depends on how you look at it.
Yeah, it just deepens.
I tread with sorrow now,
Half steps, and tiptoed crowns
My bed is made, and I can’t sleep in it
I stare where darkness lays,
Who else might take it up at night,
When they’re in sight, oh in such clear sight.
Enough, enough,
Lets get to the point
Enough, enough
Past the point of no returns
There’s shadows on my windowsill again,
I’ve set sail so many times, in my mind
Take the overly blessed, prince and his princess
No robin hood, I’d rob them blind.
So call me faithless, enemy to the crown
Call up the pack dogs, and hunt me down,
Cause the noose is calling, and my boots are tied
When it comes to love, it’s lost and found.
Its lost and found.
I am a man, of means
