time stands still (do no harm mix) 20090828

It’s the “do no harm” mix.
Because, theoretically you won’t hear any difference between this and “technique 43”.
Which is sad really, given how many hours I spent on it. Hours spent on the oh-so-exciting put-everything-in-Logic step.
I was disheartened to learn that Logic doesn’t have an equivalent to Ableton Live’s “external instrument” plugin when it comes to rewire instruments (Logic’s external instrument only works on physical audio inputs).
I was also confused by the lack of stereo bus input options when you’re configuring an auxilliary channel. Apparently this is due to “universal track mode” and as far as I know, this means there’s no way to send something to an aux channel without it being summed up as mono, unless you disable UTM. Am I missing something here?
I had been trying to configure a proper aux reverb, and after all of that drama, I didn’t even use it, because I could never get it to sound like the original version where it was basically being used as an insert effect on each instrument.
So to sum up, despite having a list of todos for this track (read ‘em here: http://hayleybackwards.com/2009/08/28/song-for-polish-time-stands-still/ ), I didn’t get to tackle any of them really since I spent all of my energy just getting everything set up in Logic.
Le sigh. C’est la technology.
Just gorgeous.
