:‘DD Thank you!

Yeah! :)
I hate those dreams. I have them too: The naked math class; foot stuck in the train tracks; the sudden discovery of a test that I haven’t studied for.
Ah, but also the great dreams - flying, etc.
Great train sample!

so sweet, well done

Cool water. Very nice!

Wow, lovely autumnal feel to this!
Hey there. Thanks for the comment on my practice session. You’re right that we piano strugglers need a support & self-help group! Maybe something in the forums, a “practice” top-level topic might be good enough.

This song is genius.

As someone who’s only accustomed to the western tuning system (shows my ignorance that I don’t even know what it’s called), this was very different and very striking.
How are you going about getting the different tunings? Are you tuning an acoustic instrument or doing this via a plugin?
Dig this! Keep on posting these, because this is inspiring.
Maybe I’m nuts, but it almost makes me think that maybe those of us on alonetone who are trying to improve on the piano could form a group for mutual encouragement purposes, and post what we’re practicing.
This tune will always hold a special place in my heart for it was the perfect ending to the 24 hour challenge.
Just wish I had been the one to write it! :)
I dig all of these. A fantastic 24 hour effort.
And I second what Kirk said, I want to be a fly on the wall in your studio! :)
I always dig your crazy otherworldly sounds!
And yeah, don’t hold back on us, keep ‘em coming!
I dig this and really hope you do something further with it (though it’s also beautiful just the way it is)!
Lots of great stuff on this album. Enjoyed listening to all of it.
This was my favorite. Lots of fun and glitchy stuff here.
So question for you.. how did you record the piano for this album?
And I realized later that you hadn’t specifically asked what I was using on one of my piano songs.. so to answer your earlier question: It was Reason+Record for that song, with “built-in” sounds as well some refills (notably the Reason Pianos that I mentioned).
Dig this one!
The polyrhythms (if that’s the term) really give me the sense of rain falling, too.
Lovely!
To answer your question… currently I’m using the Reason pianos refill. I’ve also used NI’s Akoustik, Ableton Live Suite’s grand piano, and an Alesis QS7 in reverse chronological order. :)
blog: Post your RPM album on alonetone
Not really an album, because that would tend to mean that there was some sort of theme or coherent structure to this. Which there wasn’t.
So instead, here’s my FAWM/RPM song-a-day playlist:

Glad you got refueled cause this is freaking awesome!
I like the lead, but I’d definitely have a slower fade out at the end. It left me wanting MORE.
Dig the western feel of this one. Gonna have to see the movie again to get the full effect!
blog: RPM, Reichatron and a 24-hour challenge?
I’d be game for any weekend in March.
Though I think I’d try to “cheat” and pull off the 24 minutes in like 12 hours since I’ve never ever ever made it a full 24 hours without falling into a coma.
Damn. How on earth do you manage to get all of these separate things to fit together so well?
And reading through the liner notes…. I am in awe of your ability to focus on one piece for so long and what must be an amazing attention to detail. Where can I get me some of that? :)
Really interesting to hear your take on electronica, if you will.
Definitely looking forward to seeing what hybrid electronic/acoustic songs you come up with!
Enchanting.
Love all of the change-ups (if that’s the word) that you have in this piece.
