All I used here was the Yamaha nylon string. No effects, no other instruments, just was how the mic picked up what I was doing. I wish I had gone longer.
You might not believe this but, on all the tracks except "Lookin' For Love" I used an old Yamaha nylon string guitar. Rhythm instruments when used where either an old kick drum pedal against some packing foam that is screwed to the back of my old bass amp cab (cab isn't being used), stomping a kids tambourine or just my foot bumping on the floor (which I didn't realize until later was being picked up by the mic). Thanks much for listening :)
I like it more than Johnny Cash version of Depeche Mode song. I know your song only shares name and i actually expected this to be a cover. I'm curious, which software do you use for recording?
Nice. Different in a good way. I've been doing the annual RPM challenge for February. You got me thinking maybe I should try the monthly version. Good job. Looking forward to hearing more.
Hey, I'm really liking your ambient sounds. Also, you have great volume on your tracks. I need to learn how to do that. Great work. keep 'em coming :-)
Hey Lane, No issues here. I'm glad to know people are listening and having fun. Thanks much for your help and interest. As yo can tell, I'm not very good at the mixing stuff. Thanks again, DaveC. ( acoustic57) :)
When I was young we lived opposite a big play area - lots of grass and trees and bushes to rampage around - and in the middle a tarmac playground with the "amusements" - a witches hat (aka umbrella), a long rocking horse with saddles along its…
Ashes and dragon's breath - bright things in the sky, childhood games, battlegrounds, cemeteries.
Lyrics:
Long long days, summer holidays, staying up late
green wood on the bonfire, we danced around the flames
street lights and stars…
You’re feeling that you’re broken
And your door’s no longer open
Don’t you ever, ever give up
For all the words unspoken
And the thoughts that were provoking
Don’t you ever, ever give up
But tonight, you have it right
So, get out there…
Preacher man, Holy man
I know who you are
Take our money you won’t get far
Take the cash, in a flash
Off in a limousine
I know who you are
Cause I know who you are
Mission man, Holy man
hand in the jar
I know who you are
Get the stash…
Nice sound. Your sound is similar to The Mighty Men and Joe "Spuds" Riekert, two guys that came onboard this year from RPM. They're cool guys and have some nice stuff. Good work :
Lately it seems, I don’t know what I’m living for
Occasionally, I feel so unsure
And I know this world holds so much more
Seems to me, don’t know who I am any more
I don’t really know what I stand for
But I’ve been held down for too long…
A simple folk style song based off the Velvet Underground's "New Age".
I was given the task to write a song quickly, by no less than a pretty girl I was talking to at the time. The influence is apparent, perhaps theft, but hopefully Dylanesque…

Nice guitar crisp guitar. Is this the harmony again?
What a cool reggae vibe. Sharp!
Nice. I like this guitar!
that guitar sounds pretty good. it's got a good bottom end and character.
good chorus. love the authenticity in the recording.
that guitar has character. I like the live feel.
Great groove, brilliant instrumentation. I'd be interested -- two tracks? Guitar and mandolin? Sounds great!
Nice. A little glimpse into the comings and goings around the house!
I'm digging the poignancy here. Such a beautiful mournful vocal.

A laborious task but you’ve made it sound fun with the girl of your best friend

Nice, I like the guitar in this and the vocals fit the mood :)
Hmm, something out of the norm.... in a really good way :)
I agree, great vocal control. Almost a yodel type voice at times. Nice how you can let your voice break and have it sound right. Good job.
Nice. I like the confidence in the vocals :)
Cool, variations on a theme happening :) Looking forward to hearing more.
Completely different...... and I like it ! :)
Once again, nice work ! Nice to hear a familiar sound and era.
