Well the MN songwriters were in my living room tonight. We all shared our contributions to the "glass" songwriting challenge. Here's the live version of Poorly Blown Glass with Greg Connor on Guitar, Scott Zosel on Mandolin, Colin Walterson…
Here's the second one we did at the Winterland Studios. You'll hear Greg Connor on guitar and vocals, Colin W. on bass and vocals and Randy C. on piano. This was a blast! I think this is definitely the best version yet of this song.

I wrote the lyrics and melody to this song a week or so ago when I was feeling that unsettling disconnected feeling we all get from time to time when we're missing the people we love.... Then I gave myself the challenge to try a few things with…
Hi gang.
The Proods are back....Brian at the helm this time.
Our methodology is thus....one of the 4 of us introduce a song, and then we'll bang out a finished track in under an hour with as few over-dubs as possible. This one we put some effort…
It was 3 degrees this morning and with a new/used dulcimer in the house, well, the only thing to do is write a song.

Been busy all week preparing for the winter weather and getting stuff ready for the horses and sheep to see them through winter. But with the torrential rain today i thought a guitar day was to be and this came out…
This song was a favorite of a dear friend we lost a year ago. It felt like a good song to practice the piano. This was the first try -- not that it was good, but it just kept getting worse.
The vocals sound distant because they are... the microphone…
Written for an upcoming Blues competition as one of several songs being considered for the contest. I sprung this on my friend Chris, without warning last night and pushed the record button.

OMG! Another total masterpiece. I love the chorus on this so much. Total earworm for the day. Good luck with the competition. You’ve got a real winner here.
Yes…we’re TRYING to do an AC~DC thing here.
The song was written by our lovable drummer Matt, but we all had fun working on it. (The Angus-style guitar lick was mine.)
As always, the song is introduced to the band, kicked around and recorded…

Ok, I know that it appears that The Proods have been posting so grim music of late, but this song started out as an homage to one of the Lady-Proods, and just kinda got away from us.
More stuff following….bright, chipper love songs.
A song about being home, not so much geographically but in a settled, grounded kinda way... Working with what is and letting go of the things that don't serve me anymore.
May it bring you peace as you listen.
I'm home...
I'm home...

Too many rainy days lately, so what is a boy to do? Write a song!

First song I'm posting for RPM 2025. Not sure I'll finish this year....but I'll try.
Wrote this after listening to more of the horrible news coming out of the US.

This was quite a quick write.
I was watching a film.
Someone said "No matter what the odds".
So I thought: what about a song called No…
Love this one too! I hear a big production anthem style someday. An arena full of people singing this at the top of their lungs! Fantastic! What a fun morning for me to listen to so much of your great music!

Wow! This one really hits a deep emotional chord. Your writing is superb as usual, but this spare arrangement just feels like raw emotion. An instant fav!!!

I started this one first but got stuck in the surrealism of the opening line (it was "He" originally). I really didn't want to give the suntan…

Sweet gentle song - nice.
Not everyone has a voice that so effortlessly conveys such depth live. Lovely.
I'm really digging the 'down home' vibe on this!
So sweet in it's apparent simplicity. Very difficult to pull off, you made it.
you guys are ready for the road....get out of the house and take this band on tour!!! :-) great song

Greg said this was live from the coffee table ? nicely done ! are you able to play locally in coffee houses? this would be wonderful.
This is beautiful. Nice work on this one Colleen! I'm amazed at the quality of recording from a small handheld recorder sitting on your coffee table.
Lovely song. Wow, clever lyrics. And I love the spare arrangement.
Very sweet!
Lovely!
You always come up with the best melodies and lyrics. I love the simplicity of this. The doubling of voice (W/Reverb) is a nice touch.
Proods love you....never go away!
Awesome. No one writes lyrics like you do Colleen! First class.
Very nice!
Thought I'd commented on this the other day....must be getting old....well written and enjoyed
