Deep Woods Daybreak
Colleen Dillon
or A.K.A. the Caribou Lake song…
I wrote this one for my Dad, who while up at our family cabin in the north woods of MN said there’s not enough music about the woods…
My first “one take wonder” - just me and my little Uke - roughing it!
DEEP WOODS DAYBREAK
Verse 1:
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Left the city for some time in the woods
The clean fresh air will do me some good
Sun’s up early this time of year
Warming the beauty of what’s simple here
Verse 2
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Dog’s are barking, it’s time to wake up
Walk to the water, coffee in your cup
Lift your face up to the sun
Drink in the warmth, the day has begun
Chorus
Peeps and twitters
Cheeps and sighs
A splash in the water
The buzz of a fly
The symphony that no city can make
The deep woods sounds of this daybreak
Verse 3
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Out on the water or walk in the woods
Clear up your mind, Make your
head feel good
Lucky to spend this time up here
The north woods beckons and holds you dear
Chorus
Peeps and twitters
Cheeps and sighs
A splash in the water
The buzz of a fly
The symphony that no city can make
The deep woods sounds of this daybreak
The deep woods sounds of this daybreak
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Nice one Colleen! Really paints a beautiful picture!
