this is about a couple who are at odds with each other because of their goals, could also be viewed as a guy who wants his partner to commit suicide with him?
i usually play this on guitar, but for the RPM Challenge, i wanted to do it electronically…

that is not a sample you hear in the background, it is the dryer going. leave it in? okay, sure i'll leave it in. it's these artistic decisions we're all forced to make.
I literally pulled this out of my ass in a few minutes. The lyrics just poured out of me once i decided to sing about myself. Very autobiographical, also inspired by polka music. i love polka music!
didn't know what to call this track, but once i came up with a title, it wrote itself! i heard on npr about how all this junk of ours is making outerspace around Earth a very dangerous place to be. this track is trying to reflect that danger.
Enjoyable track here... has a bit of a tasty game-soundrack sound. You'd probably enjoy my "Dance of the Technoids" music video as a chaser to this :-) (it is a YouTube video attached to the music description.) Second section is the perfect free-floating break to the drummy section, very dreamy.

Hey Dashiell...I downloaded your whole album a few days ago and have been listening to it non stop....i really love it...love the electronic songs (esp. mercury and neptune blues are great) and the contrast with the more melodic, acoustic stuff...great work man...i uploaded our stuff just last night...thanks for telling me about this site...its awesome
cheers,

another one i always play on the guitar, inspired by Nick Drake's stuff; half way through this song goes into unknown guitar improvisational territory, where i just played over my own stuff after looping it

This is truly sublime. I'm glad we had the chance to correspond about a new spin and for you turning me on to "Your" new music... Really love it. Thanks I will spread the word.

A blatant attempt at exploiting the deep well of The Jesus and Mary Chain/Pixies/Raveonettes/House of Love. A lovingly loud, shiny and guitar-laden paean to those great bands.
A song I've had stored in my head for quite awhile, though never committed to tape (erm... binary code) - probably because I thought it was a bit simple and even trite. Having to come up with an album's worth of material in a month cured me of…
04 – Machiavellian Ways. Written 5th Feb. Recorded 5th/9th Feb.
Mark Morriss has written some really witty triple rhymes in a slightly country fashion, and I wanted to try it too. Although I am not sure if I succeeded, I had fun - and got…
02 – Falling Down Again. Written 17th/18th Feb. Recorded 17th/18th/19th Feb.
A slightly schizophrenic pop song, with a vocal section that also betrays me wanting to be a Beach Boy. Worryingly there is actually a red sticky trickle that seeps…
The Dutch painter Mondrian was apparantly a fervent dancer to Boogie Woogie and that image stuck because he seems such a stiff guy otherwise. So I thought that would make a funny subject for a dance-tune. Normally I wouldn't make a song about…
Here the idea was that I was going to write from the viewpoint of someone who is paralyzed from the neck down and can through technology only watch other peoples life but not participate. It turned out a bit more general and ambiguous than that.
Grew out of my frustration at having to sing, play all the instruments, and engineer my own recording...
Baby, Would You Be My Engineer?:
Baby, would you be my engineer
and keep my headphones sounding clear?
I desperately need someone…
love the reznor, i was influenced by him for the ending of "Suzie and Fred." you might like my other electronic stuff, "Mercury Blues" and/or "Neptune Blues." it's different 'cause i avoid the 4/4, knowwhatimean?

Lovely guitar work!
Nice track- that second half is especially fascinating!
I'm happy.
i'm quite enjoying this. there's a build up about half-way through where it shifts the overall sound which is quite radical.

Great job overall on the entire album. I really really love your sound.
Love this track! Very dreamlike. Like an unheard Penguin Cafe Orchestra track. I'd leave the dryer in. :)
Sweeets!
Quite like this.
this sounds like the evil cousin of belle and sebastian on ny-quil...in a good way.

i love the call and response/echo of this. man, making two albums back to back, you must be exhausted, no? and thanks for your uber kind comments :)
i love the mood of this one.
i love when Danielle sings!
i love this, like velvet on ice.
this is great, too, i love the mood. amanset, and again the velvet underground and nico sound, this is indie lo-fi goodness.
this is delightful, i love it. les baxter collides with velvet underground
this is waaaaaaaaaay too short! more, please.
your sound smacks of a band i saw in Chapel Hill called Movietone. hushed guitar and sweet vocals, very nice!

thanks for submitting your tracks to The New Spin. I love 'em. I'll play one tonight. Anything I should say about you?

this is wonderful, reminds of Dungen a bit. i'm diggin' the monopoli!
dude, i had to do all that, too, ha ha. sing, play everything, record, produce. this is hilarious!
