Pouring your heart into an album and finally calling it finished is surreal. It is no longer yours, but everyone's who now listens. Great work Mr Burl Whitis!
Kisses Goodnight
Verse One
After Goodbyes and all,
We’re now on our way
We’re leaving here for now
Cold hands, spin me around
Eyes lock and innocence becomes
My eyes
PreCH
The photographs
Still frames in my mind
Forged memories…
I decided to try a few different things this year for RPM. This is the single (along with a b-side to make a playlist) I'm using to show I completed RPM. All told I had six songs and could have listed an EP, but the songs all need a bit more…
Verse One
How did we get to this place
in our lives where we hate each other
how could you be so far away from me
I’ll never understand
With you by my side
We could have been so great so perfect now
Chorus
And how the world can be so…
Lessons not, quickly forgotten.
Stable eye, upbuild downtrodden.
Troubled times, lay down often.
Catch the sky, once in a while.
No longer a sound.
Lack of presence feelin' down.
Nothing to put my arms around.
Emptiness is not profound…
Great way to end out the album, light and dramatic, short and to the point.
Seriously great way to start off your record making! Looking forward to hearing more form you!
I saw her mother
Just the other day
She didn’t know me
So I froze on what to say
When she was happy
Nothing made her frown
Danced so much
They even gave her a crown
She was , she was royalty
Really wish that she remembered me
She…
Another great track, this feels like it could be the "single." There is a comfort and familiarity to this track while maintaining your own personal style.
Push & pull,
Left & right,
Up & down,
Don't forget your dog's in this fight.
Courage!
Might!
All so hard to see in this light.
Couldn’t put it any other way,
Hands up in the air as if they’re trynna say,
Will I ever be…
What's your angle?
Why, you want everything for free?
Is it your ego,
or how you want the world to be?
Chase your desire,
But your blind to the cost.
Grab at the surface.
Your ideology is lost.
You can't have it all!
This is the price…
You can feel the enjoyment of making music in the song. Production feels a bit different the previous songs but still fits. I was about to comment on Anthem of Zeros being my favourite but Figured I would listen to rest of the album before committing that comment. It is a toss up between Anthem of Zeros and Vice.
One last cup of coffee
Before I hit the road
Where I’m going
You only know
Don’t forget me
Once i’m sold
Breaking down slowly
I suppose so
I’m beaten up
But I’ve grown up
Beaten up
Grow up
You’ll make someone happy
For a year…
There’s. man by the shallow
He goes there each day
Screams about his problems,
Prays them away
Why’d you come to the shallow?
Do you ever feel peace?
I need a solution
Before my head is fleeced.
The shallow, it saves me
It, holds…
I wait, I wait,
For you now.
I wait, I wait,
For you now.
Now that you're ahead I wonder,
Will you turn and wait for me?
I wonder.
If I lost direction,
Would the favor return for free?
I wonder.
Hit the brakes, hit the brakes!
Wait…
It’s all smoke and mirrors
Why I can’t see straight
Will this illusion vanish
When will it break
The smoke it lifting
The mirrors clear
I wasn’t really risking
Everything is still there
Am I still dreaming
This just don’t sit right…
I guess it's really gonna be farewell,
For as far as I can tell,
Once upon a time story sounds so swell,
the kind of story that we would tell,
We tell the children that it's all, alright,
Nursery rhymes to get through the night,
Hush little…
I saw you walk right by me without a second glance.
I heard you talking right behind my ‘ugly’ back.
Who knew that we could turn from friends to strangers so so fast,
I thought that this was just the end.
I always argued it was your fault…

Looks like the clouds
Are being blown away
Looks like the sky
Is slowly turning grey
And i wanna know
Why you…

I’m fine you ask if i’m
feeling it
You are so bright and blind my eyes

You wear…

It’s so tiring just to be near you
So close and for so long
But i wouldn’t want to be anywhere else
so don’t get…

This is in a tie of favourite track with Vice. This is a great debut album.

A lot of diversity in the style but it is massively cohesive. I love that transition into the chorus.
