For The Good of The Colony: a song about a people who traded in their rights for the sense of pastoral protection.
LYRICS:

This one is dedicated to my dear friend John. Thanks for changing my life for the better....
Also a big thanks to our own Greg Connor who helped me get the chords for my own uke accompaniment, and who kindly played the beautiful guitars…
While living in Seattle I knew a guy named Larry. Larry was one of the "pretty" people of the world and had most women drooling over him. He met and married Denise... Also one of the "pretty" people of the world. But Denise could not seem to…
Starts off sounding like a chord progression for the Red Hot Chili Peppers (I think the opening lyrics are "My friends are so depressed." Another excellent track! I think the cymbal splashes might be a little loud in spots but everything is mixed really well!

This is the first cover song I've ever really recorded in my 15 years of playing and recording.
The guitar and voice are each full continuous takes, I didn't want to do comping (copy and pasting), though the vocal harmony parts were done in…
This is maybe the first track written entirely by This Caustic Autumn as a group effort. I'd been to see Sigur Ros play at Massey Hall in Toronto the night before we wrote this, so that's where the idea for the bowed Les Paul came from. Other…

This is a song from a year or so again - from my CD "jiguma dreaming". It features Alf Solti on keys, Thor Oliversen on lead guitar, Anne Cozean and Jan Porter on backing vox, and me on Fender precision bass, Telecaster, Seagull acoustic, vocals…
Love all the bloops and blips. Nice synth lead line. Great transition at the one minute mark. The drums get a tab redundant but nothing major. Nice ending with just the bass.
A further march down the road in acl's evolution - and one of the many directions we've been dying to get to... it's, ummm, water-y. (And this song is especially dedicated to J Wentz.)

Glad to see you on here Neil! This is a tasty track Neil (especially the guitar). My only complaint is that I would tone back the cymbal crashes a little bit. The backing vocals are great and so are the keys. Post some more songs Neil!
One of MNCC's few songs with lyrics that can be recognized as english. Plus, it's a true story (even if it is about 2 different people) and it's got a Simpson's reference.

Yes love the bass line... Actually I wish it was even more prominent! Very nice overall!

Like the drums Mark. The vocals are also great. Sounds like Dire Straits in spots. Super retro vibe.
Retrotastic!
excellent¡¡¡¡¡ experimental rock, with the GLU touch.
Oh, this is nice!
Great acoustic recording! Great performance! I've never heard of Iron and Wine before. I'll have to check Samuel Beam out. Fantastic!
That's pretty bad-ass. Sounds like it clips in spots but this is excellent. Right up my alley.
I'm using my trusty Powerbook G4 for all these recordings. Thanks for the kind words!
This really sets a cool mood and keeps it going through the entire piece. Very nice!
Really clean, clear vocals. Nicely done! Guitar sounds very cool too as you have it panned! It almost sounds drop tuned... Is it?
