I just bought a new Gibson SG Standard guitar with P90 pickups. I bought it after listening to Steve Krell's Gibson Gold Top with P90's.
Here is my first recording with the guitar.
Lyrics:
Sitting in my living room
Sunlight will be fading…
Having another listen for that guitar sound :)
Funnily enough, my SG and Explorer have swapped pickups (wonder if this had anything to do with it?). The SG has come off slightly better I think, been using it a lot last few days - slightly more, er, raucous than this, but it can do these sounds as well now.

I hope you don't mind if I slap a track of acoustic lead guitar to this. Four bars into this and I was swiftly adjusting the tuning on my new Yamaha, and then... well, keep an eye and ear on your email.

Now this is different! Love the interesting rhythm and how it all began. Delicious lyrics! ;) Love those bluesy licks. Superb vocals as always. Thanks for the big smile -- this was a lot of fun to hear and visualize.

So gorgeous, I tremble in awe as I listen. Remarkable lyrics, and the new vocals and additional flute are magical as well and appropriate for this fantastic song. You're the man!

Hey, everyone's getting into P90s! (Mine are in an Explorer - kind of an incongruous mix, but sounds great when when I can get up the strength to put it on!)
The SG sounds FAB!! And it's a very cool song... all sentimental guitarists know exactly what you mean :)

One of those progressions I can't get finished enough to call a complete song.In A.BTW if you load this to Audacity and seperate the stereo tracks, you can mute or delete the right hand track and add your own.
Ok, now this really is a tongue in cheek song. But, is it just me, or... are all politicians just a waste of space or just Rich & Sad. With no Life !!!
My contribution to this year's RPM Kitchen Challenge.
Very silly.

The decending line is about the coolest musical concept. Ear candy, and it can be Major or minor scale.Love my effects, but there's no substitution for plain old technique.
Well played John! You are right, it tickles my fancy!
Does the decending (Or downward spiral) have anything to do with the Republicans heading toward Florida next week?
Sorry . . . I couldn't help but ask.
I posted this song a few days ago and Bethan liked the music so much she wrote her own words. Here it is, a co-write across the Atlantic.

Yes, I like this too!
It's good solid music, with interesting lyrics. In fact, here is what I left on Bethan's site:

I was hooked when I heard:
"not much fun when your gum's all gone"
That pretty much sums it up!

This is a live cut from an NPR radio broadcast back in 1988 while my Irish Trad group Scartaglen was on one of its first east coast tours. Found recently on a cassette tape. Musically this was one of my favorite periods in the history of the band…
I stopped back for a second listen. It's even better this time.
You have a lot going on in the song, and it's all going in the same direction.
You really know how to build a song!
My arrangement of an American traditional tune with tons of variations on title, lyrics and tune. I went for a little delta feel with some light slide on the guitar, and harmonica along with the banjo... definitely strange but I think it works.
Here's a song I recorded a couple of months ago when I had the flu ... as the voice reveals :)
Recorded early in the morning,in the bathroom, using the built-in mics on my boss br800.

Morning Greg, Stopped by to hear the Greg Connor set. These are great tunes. Thanks, Steve

So, it runs in the family I see. Another great composition - endearing lyrics, great playing (and I love the whistles conversing with each other). :)
Sweet hearts and guitars, that extra limb which grows with us until it has become us. love this one deeply Greg.
