It was just a laps of judgment
I should have thought it through
I swung and then I hit him

He went down hard and sudden
Then he got back up for more
And I hit him even harder
As the cops came through the door

90 days in the jail house
Assault and battery
They asked if I was sorry
I said “Just leave me be”

Have I learned my lesson
