This song is a work in progress. I attended an online songwriting workshop hosted by Chad Shank (Minnesota Songwriters Association) who was talking about songs with varying length lines to create more of a conversational atmosphere and the use of different degrees of irregular rhyme patterns to create disonance and resolve. Here is the first attempt.

I’m heading home

Where the wind blows through the Pine trees

I’ve been gone

For what seems like an eternity of time

No more Time spent on someone else’s dream

No more Time that’s lost in vain it seems

I doubt I find

Time for you

I’m taking back

All The things you took away

I’ll Start again

To live my life like I was meant to do

Time keeps slipping away

And it’s never coming back again
