This is the one song I wish the bass was a little louder. The recording just doesn't do it justice. When we play it live it shakes the foundation!!

Enjoyed the bass line in this one, the story in Matte Finish and what I'll call the blueish/folk sound of American Ashtray. The vocals in each have the sound of ol' bluesers and rockers, enjoyable.
Music is sparse here. I would like more substance in the sound and not so much focus on the vocals. You have enough talent to make this a bigger sound. I like the lyrics.
Love the blues guitar here. Vocals are southern rock and gritty. Dig it. Takes me back to the streamline trailer down by the river on a hot summer day in the 70's.
the good family needs to go on tour! the vocals are awesome. it was a great workin with yall on the rpm. hope my butt print will come out of your orange chair.lol. looking forward to our next project!
as to be expected, this album is perfect and beautiful. great sunday brunch backgroud ear candy. this song could not have been a better choice for a closer.
Lyrics:
Skip ahead to her in pants,
watch her dance in the living room
in front of all the other dinner guests.
She thumbs her nose at simulacra,
but someone must play Cleopatra
in the PTA's yearly drama fest.
Her husband broke his body…
This is just another middle of the road pile of trot, this time about the amazing instant classics I write, but am so protective of that I daren't let any of you hear. No one will ever hear them. Sorry, but I'm afraid this shite will just have…
This song is sort of about making a clean break, killing off the lead character in your story and burying him along with all his sins before the inevitable happens, and the bad guy gets his. Initially came from a jam with my mate Ben Price who…
A dramatisation of events from school.. hope 'Shaun' never hears this, and if he does, that he likes it in someway, and that things turned out alright in the end..
It was always rainin.
It filled him up
It summed it up
So perfectly
How nothing…
This time paying homage to grandpa. Did I miss any dead folks out this album?
I often stop and think of William
Up on Skinners Ridge
He passed me on his way back down
As I passed from being a kid
A shame you’d say
But aint that the way
Things…
To conclude the album, here is the title track in a full band setting, featuring the great Rob Wirensjo on a riveting piano and also Hank Johnzon doing a jazzy pedal. The arrangement is a little reminiscent of turn of the 19th century can-can…
A slow, scaled down, bluesy song with tremolo guitar, soaring organ and close up vocals.
Don't Ever
(Words & Music by Jana Persson)
I wanna hide no more
And I wanna close the door
Don't ever leave me
Never decieve me
Don't ever…
Next stop, Nashville.
Time to Let Go (Song for Ramona)
(Music by Jana Persson, Lyrics by Jana Persson and Will Gough)
Feel the hurt
Feel the pain
Aching heart
Not again
All the pleas
On my knees
Where's the cure for emotions like…
My take on Gumbo's Keep Your Eye On The Spot, one of many excellent tracks from his RPM2011 album 'Cat's Moustache'. It's something of a departure from the original, though I was trying to retain an element of the gospel so hopefully its soul…
