If Ennio Morricone and Dr. Dre smoked a buttload of crack and decided to collaborate, except that one of them thought he was writing a soundtrack for the Godfather Part 11, and the other for Phantom of the Opera, Part 2, The Unwanted Sequel…
Did the world really need a cheesy, spaghetti western version of this classic Eagles song? I'm not sure. Did I make one anyway? Yes. Yes, I did. By the way the painting is "Villa Diablo" by Downe Burns.

A cover of the Cure's minimalist alt-rock classic, an old favorite of mine.

the drum sounds are just basic samples included with FL Studio. i normally never use them, but in this case they actually sound a lot like the drums in the original track. at least to me :)

Hey, nice jorb. I like the Minimoogish bass (that ain't the real thang is it?) and the manner in which the guitar/keys melody meanders about above it. Going back for a second listen! :)

Damn I wish I would have thought of that!! I was going to do a mellow version but the song kind of took itself over and did it's own thing, I just went for the ride!

@Whales - thanks :)
I think there is a flanger in there and a phaser plugin, but it's not a real guitar. It's a few e. guitar sounds from my Korg keyboard. I piled on a ton of effects from FL studio and Guitar Rig to try to make it sound decent, but I don't remember exactly what I did.
this stuff is right up my alley. for some reason, they remind me a little live recordings of old rush tunes from the caress of steel era - like 'the necromancer' and 'fountain of lamneth' I think I will download your album this weekend and go for a drive.
Here's a piece I wrote for my buddy Ron's Documentary about the Tuareg people of Niger... check out the website, and watch some clips from the movie about BAMBINO!!

this is really cool! As a beginning music-maker I am really impressed by how you kept that bass line groove fresh and interesting for the full 12 minutes. It was really great all the way through! The clapping, snapping, stomping rhythm breakdown at around 3 or 4 minutes was really cool, too :)
This is my first musical expedition into the midi keyboard. Having never played the piano its a fun learning experience. Thanks to Norm for lending me Stinkbug!
cool - very interesting choice of timbre :) keep exploring with the midi - it's like trading in you eight used crayons for a brand new box of crayola 128. so much fun!
Comments on Djörk's stuff
really cool reminiscent of the early tff by the associates
brilliant
I dig this more. SMmmooth . "Godfather Part 11, and the other for Phantom of the Opera" lol

nah, not a minimoog... the base sound is from native instruments 'massive' synthesizer... thanks for listening :)
Yummy retro sound on the drums. Is it samples or a dedicated box? If the later, what is it?
Nifty.

The sort of track that when it finishes, the listener says, Ohhh! and pouts!
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and comment. Very nice things here; I will come back and investigate more soon. Best regards! kss
Classic. And I love the band name. You've brought back my roflmao. Thank you, thank you.

you're really peaking your performance! I like your songs more and more. You're especially good at sweet melodies. More please!
Thanks Djork, it is great to have Norm as my percussionist! Love the Owlvatar!
fantastico!!
Still completely genius!
Love the sparkly synth at the 3 minute mark!
Love the breezy mix - this has a wonderful haunting feel.
