Barcelona Beach
A day at the beach and a moment of seeing past the trappings of the physical world into what’s really important. This song is doing double duty with another Rock-opera concept.
Lyrics: Fuzzface / Music, Vox: Dave Berry
Recorded on BR-1200; E-piano, LaPatrie Etude Classical guitar, Godin xtSA, Epi Sheraton, GR-20, Bass, mandolin, Seagull Acoustic.
Barcelona Beach
Far away from my home so grey
is a land of sand and sun and play
and when I’m there I have no name
my heart beats in time to the waves
There’s no rules / there’s no game
Would you call it “zen” or simply “sane”
To live a day free of trouble and pain?
I ask myself which is the better way
to live a life I inherited by my name
or on this beach to start today?
Blue sky above and white sand below
under my feet and between my toes
waves they crash the tide comes and goes
even busy bees stop to smell a rose
even busy bees stop to smell a rose
Nature or nuture? / Even plants have instinct
Yet I choose my path / I am ’cause I think
But when I open my eyes / and see the natural world
I know who I am / the knots come unfurled
Am I the one who makes the world?
There’s a place inside hiding in your core
it was there long ago before there ever was a war
it’s protected well, safely locked down
away from all thought / doesn’t make any sound
I’m hiding here and no one can tell
I’ve been hiding from me / I’ve been hiding from hell
Cloudless Sky, Starless Night
I call out to you with all my might.
Nice set up, glad you liked my acoustic stuff. I took this week off to work on some recording hopefully I be wrapping up some recording I've been workin on. Pretty nice setup you have going. Is that a "stabd alone" recorder? I have a few computer setups but I have been looking for a digital 16 track with a cd burner, it might nake my life easier ;)
