Hey all! I reworked this old tune of mine. This is the fourth version, I think. It might be good! I prepared it for an event on another site for early next month.
Enjoy,
Doug
Pulled this one together in bits and pieces as time permitted. This has been one of my favs, lately!

Oh, yes, this is my loopless experiment, too!

fun gentle ballad thingie (although the fuzz guitar in the middle was a surprise :-) Cool bits of drumming and guitar and singing... way more than I'd ever try to do!

The guitar is a little jangley/harsh. Maybe try to EQ it a little bit differently. I really like the percussion embellishments like the triangle and subtle crash cymbals throughout. I like your voice. It sounds like Bowie in spots.
A reverse take (recorded live at a gig) of a couple of Pink Floyd covers. The amazing Bill Pohl on 2nd guitar. It came out sounding strangely symphonic.
Instrumentation: fretless bass, tabla, acoustic and distorted acoustic guitar, hang drum samples (courtesy of Sudara), soft synth (AAS Ultra Analog), ambient sample of the jungle (pitched down two octaves) a sprinkle of ebow (from my Sudara files).
One of my favorite songs of all time and one of my favorite voices.
Thanks M.T.
My Skin
Some days I’m fine
Yeah some days I feel sublime
All the time
But then there’s days
I wanna crawl out of my skin
And leave it in

Several years ago I had a short lived duo with an oboe and English horn player named Nat. This is a demo from that period. It's an old old chord progression of mine that never really had a melody and Nat improvised this melody in the studio to…
My first composition that uses an odd time signature for a few measures. My drum fills are also more elaborate. It's just a little tune to bob your head to, tap your toe, you know, the good stuff!
I just couldn't sit on this anymore! This is a work in progress. I have some ideas for lyrics, but am waiting for time and inspiration to complete it.
Enjoy,
Doug
i am thinking about words tonight
they can be hard as nails
they-can be as shapeless as water
they can break your heart
they can hang like a chain
hold you up for years
cause you to think twice
take away your fears
you are falling in love…
Something completely different- Uilleann pipes(Irish bagpipes) and synth. I wrote this tune over 20 years ago in the style of traditional Irish slow airs. It was recorded way back in 1991 for an album that's been out of print for over 15 years…
It's actually a redo of one of my earlier songs. I changed the lyrics a bit, the title and rerecorded the whole thing. The original is called, "I've Changed."
I've got a really painful head cold right now. I thought between bouts of pain I would…
the first multi track piece that I actually finished "in the box" in Cubase. An ambient kinda thing that grew out of playing around with the Line 6 DL4. Not sure I like the bow parts, but I may re do it later
about a circus that self destructs and the damage left in it's wake. Yes, it's a weird and/or dark subject but as the lyrics are unintelligible it probably won't upset anybody.
Trapped, Suffocating Inside A Snowglobe.
Written in 2007 after a particularly brutal winter. (Spring was taking its precious time manifesting.)
It kind of expanded from there, taking on a new meaning, as the lyrics perculated.
Comments on Uncle's stuff
like the melody here, Uncle. The vocal treatment is nice too... the stereo voice effect is great! and the dancing guitar layers... nice stuff
Nice one man. I dig the kinda loose jam feel that it has
Great song, especially enjoyed the lyrics.

Hah! Knip Dyolf! I love it!
Immediate and nicely directed.
Really nice developments. I was caught off guard by the delicacy to expansive transition. Binary winds.
Coming of age, again... Pieces of realization and acceptance. Contemplative.
Great developments... Swings! I really like the deliveries.
Wow Kirk! Peaceful, pensive. Great progression. Love the horn, too!
Hey Adam! Happy to hear you again! Nice rhythms. Bass power!
Thanks, Kirk! That means a lot!
Real comfortable feel. Nice performance.
So nice, good man! Contemplative, fluid. Sinking in...
Thanks, man! I've been too busy this spring. I'll get to some of your stuff asap! Peace! Doug
I don't think I would need to pick a fav, but this is it. I thought it would be the Jazz Mix. Surprise! Nicely done.
Nice weave, here. I lost track of time with it!
Thanks all. You are very kind. :)
Fascinating! Enjoyed!
Cool concept! Nice transitions. Wonderful series!
Bright! Expansive. This is wide and really nice! Great images. Nice vox. Effective simplicities and rhythms. Jazzyishness!
Sweet, delicate and reflective. Really nice phrasing. I was drawn by the title and kept by the emotion.
Peaceful. Enjoyable!
Fluid. Peaceful. Well done!
