This one is a bit off the beaten path for me, but was fun to record. It has some great tonal coloring happening throughout, so take a listen. See if you can guess what it's about...
I played this one fairly straight. It still sounds a lot like the raw 30 second idea I recorded on my phone in an elevator in Chicago in early Feb of 2010 and discovered this RPM season. It's not about what you think it is.
This song sounds like a lonely road by the beach in the late summer/early fall. Try it out when the weather is cooperating with you. Then, reflect on who you are.
Apparently this song is the quintessential Gary Fox sound. That's probably because it's done with a special guitar with a special tuning. Anyway, my favorite part of the song is the mid-section. This is a "listen loud in the dark" sort of song.

Had the chorus idea floating in my head for a number of years, but never had the inspiration to do anything with it. Then a friend died and this song came out of me staring out the window in the cold of January 2005 wondering what the hell to…
A seven minute epic with a killer hook chorus, eh? :) What a way to conclude a really magnificent piece of work. Even though this was only my second listen through it felt like all of the songs were old friends that I missed having around. That says something. Not sure what though... :P Anyway, stunning piece of work this album - as always. Not the least bit surprised to be awed once again!

A song to get up and dance to, much like you get and dance when someone whose loudly voiced opinions you don't share is sent packing. Narcissism and hero worship have no place in a civilized world. ;)
This could be The Clash or something. Love those layered harmonies, fun counterpoint that breaks the song away from being all about riff, beat and energy. Finessing, mr Fox? ;)
We decided to give the kids an outlet that wasn’t pandemic or lockdown based this February, and made an album as a family for the RPM Challenge 2021. It was just the most precious, funny, brilliant month.

This song was written for Tony Sly of No Use For A Name - He passed away July of 2013.
His music helped me through quite a bit as a kid and influenced me as a musician. I never thought I would miss a person I had never met but here I am.
Written and recorded as part of our family RPM project this year. :-D
13 year old Jasmine on vocals and ukulele.
We wrote and recorded 10 songs under the name Cattica. It was just the best month of lockdown imaginable.
(Remastered 22/10/2021)
Here's the very latest from the broom-cupboard.
I wrote it one dark night over 23 years ago.

**All I Have To Do - A A J Russe**
There isn’t much time to get this out
You won’t hear me if I have to…
Ok, grabbed me right away with that unexpected chord shift in the intro. I love your songwriting, man. The variety, the sonic palettes, the lyrics, the playing, the inventiveness, all of it really; it's such a pleasure to sit, listen, and lose myself in the song.
Comments on Gary Fox's stuff
That is one gorgeous guitar sound.
Monstrously good. Shivers down the spine good.
Aw... just peachy. You make backing vox sound just so effortless. And that's a cool guitar break, very cool.

The acoustic guitar in this song sounds fantastic! Whatever you did to make it sit that well in the mix, it's just right. Ribbon mic?
Some really interesting harmonic turns in this one. Appealing and intriguing, evocative and suggestive.
Great harmony deviation in that chorus, and love that crazy middle eight part!

Already the starting riff has me bobbing the old head, and that energy lasts the song through. Great opener!

Wait, wah-wah bass?!? Awesome. This tune just keeps getting better with each passing sound, twist, and part.
So beautiful...
I think I have my new most favorite song ever. This is genius. The delivery is perfect.
I love the feel, the movement, the spice. Bloody great!
Magical. Purely magical.
That riff is tasty; very, very tasty! And I love the vox delivery...great song!
I love every aspect of this song; the mix, the performance, the writing, all of it.
Wow, great song. Great song!
Out of the gate...this one grabs you instantly. It's a great counterpoint to Part 1.
This is an anthem! Great song!
I love how this song almost pulses out of the speakers at me. Great cut!
This whole album is phenomenal. You're the Monet of auditory soundscapes! I loved every track.
Love the guitars!
Nice! This rocks!
This is such a great song, Tim.
I love this.
Such a great number, wilsun!
I really like the melancholy feel of the beginning. The space is nice, and the synth at 2:30 is perfect.
This song and performance are 2 minutes and 28 seconds of perfection.
