Field recording from SE Peru. Came across this pissed off spider monkey and decided to record a few minutes of this vocal bout. I'm not sure what elicited such a vocal temperament, and of course, at the time, I was worried it was a large cat…

Sister Savage has a little star in this track!
Melody based on 'ah! vous dirai-je, Maman,' by Mozart.. the original composer. I think it's the first and second variation of 12, but that was like 15 years ago that I learned the piece so I have…
more tabla/club music. this one needs some melodic work, perhaps some more instrument layering, more chord progressions... anyhow, should be enjoyable enough for now.
@ noëlle-- thanks! Glad you are enjoying the tunage! If you are interested in more music made with animal samples, check out the bioelectrophilia playlist, made mostly from samples I recorded in the Peruvian Amazon last year. http://alonetone.com/glu/playlists/bioelectrophilia
Thanks for listening!

hahaha. no can do, Bethan.. it was designed to make it drop! :-) maybe I should write a disclaimer? I heard it also causes listeners to spill their drinks ;-)

I was at the Cincinnati Zoo a couple weekends ago and heard some irritated monkeys of my own. There were two bonnaroo monkeys that were just making noises back and forth. I wish I would have brought my field recorder!
thanks for the thoughtful comment! I'm including this one in my next rhythmically delicious playlist of alonetone artists. I always enjoy your music of dancing samples of instrument performances
A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009

Sometimes magic happens. Sometimes it even happens to me.
Open D tuning (low to high D A D G A D). Just a practice session where I had the guts to press record.
No drugs. Just beer with dinner. Maybe they put something in the creme brule…
This is my 12 hour song (written, recorded, mixed, mastered) ... I pined away all day at it while a storm kept me company.
instrumentation:
a man lost his house and sold me his fretless bass for next to nothing. a family friend gave me…
fixed the bass (or corrected SOME of the problems with it) and re-uploaded... it was getting a little too wobbly at times... Thanks for all the comments! You lot keep me inspired to post stuff. <3
This is part of a new body of work, centered more on guitar than synth, yet treating the guitar as I do the synth. This is still a work in progress, and I am open to input.
This is definitely an ambient piece, treating sound as a sculpture more…
wow really digging your stuff. You and I seem to be attracted to some of the same instrumentation! Hope to see more stuff of yours on here in the future!
when i feel like i have something worth saying i suppose. or when someone else does ;)
I've been working on some lyrics, but nothing 'serious' has been written. just ideas at this point.
Comments on glu's stuff
Beautiful and brave. Your new ventures with vocals remind me a bit of RJD2's recent move in "The Third Hand"- except I think you have a better voice.
Oh yes nice one as usual well done.

sounds like my wind chimes in the garden, great build as it progresses. love the breathy vocal.
Fave'd - mighty mighty nice... love this.
Missed this one- great stuff on a rainy morning!
The first clip in that KT mix is actually from a songs called "spider monkey". Thanks for all the kind words by the way!
frustrator! That's a good idea! I should try that out :-)
great beats and hats. i opened it in another window and i play them both at the same time, a quarter note apart.
OSSUM.
Brilliant.
I don't go to clubs much but this wit fit the bill perfectly. If I were a DJ I'd play it!

I dig this! You didn't disappoint either! I was waiting for a change up and got it at 0:50. Very nice!
This is pretty slick for left over junk! I wish my junk sounded like this!

kicked the computer chair a few meters away.. shaking my loot, my pirate treasure... to this one!
oooh like the beat here! nice! the tonework is really cool too. like the electric piano that comes in at around 1 minute
kind of reminds me a little of something off Tool's Opiate. Nice.
love the beat on this one
sounds like you are having fun with the R3! Nice patchwork.
oh, and did I forgot to say how lovely this song is? Really nice work.
I knew this was recorded in the shop because I can feel the spirit of craft in the melody, if that makes any sense. You must make real magic there.
reminds me slightly of The Doors... "this is the end... my only friend, the end" :) nice guitar work! really digging the rhythms too!
woah-- sounds like Depeche Mode!

nice! I take stabs at club music, but I get impatient after about 3 minutes or so. This grooves nicely for the entire 9! cheers
