A moody solo acoustic thing that I came up with playing in a long forgotten tuning. Just got a new Zoom H4N, so this was recorded in my shop sitting at my reedmaking bench may 12 2009
Very very nice. I’m happy to have stumbled across your music. Makes me want to work at your shop and make music :)
love it! illegal alien
There's a beautiful elegance and sophistication in your guitar playing Kirk, lovely to hear.
Great tone on the recording: I have much to learn about recording Acoustic guitar.
Excellent. Forgotten tuning?
Stunning Bro! Such Awesome Mood/tension Created in this one! Takes your Breath away!
So, while tinkering in your shop you spy the new H4 sitting there, beckoning. You grab the guitar and spontaneously generate this very pretty thing, to break in the H4. It's another impressive performance! To respond to your question... I plan to be here, at least to listen to the great music. Barriers to recording include all the usual, oceans, stubborn equipment, yada yada. Eventually, there will be more music.
I dig your skills man. I am playing strings along with you now.
I love guitar music... how I wish I could play the guitar, you know? I have tried but never can!!! this one goes to my favs
I can't remember if I've heard this one before or not...that's another damn, fine tune, Kirk.
Ooh, gorgeous flowing guitar work... for some reason it reminds me a bit of a cross between Micheal Hedges and Ottmar Liebert!? Always wonderful when something is played skillfully enough to sound effortless :-) ttfn, Drakonis
Just a beautiful song! It leads the mind away to somewhere far away...
it is a breathlessly beautiful dancer of Spain. she dances in a courtyard of jasmine. flowers lit by moonlight. it is a dance never forgotten. music to touch the soul. -hakucho
there is a great melodic feel to this study super clean guitar sounds, too you're a 'fera' of the fretboard, as the brazilians would say. (fera= 'wild animal' - which somehow gets used colloquially as "musical genius") thanks for your kind words re: Wanna go home. The chords are taken from a bossa nova tune - Quando Chegares - by Carlos Lyra - a great bossa songwriter.
Thank you for listening to my track and for the nice comments. I really love the rich sounds that you have in this track. It's very soothing to listen to...a really nice composition.
I knew this was recorded in the shop because I can feel the spirit of craft in the melody, if that makes any sense. You must make real magic there.
gorgeous. - therese
Oh my, how absolutely lovely. mmmm
This is lovely fingerstyle. These pieces of yours may push me back to playing more acoustic.
Thanks for the encouraging comments; I'm digging your stuff as well -a lot of subtlety here. Thanks for the sounds!
yeah, i just checked out Kirk's site. Those look like some sweep pipes! Wish I could afford your talented craftsmanship, those instruments look very inspiring!
this is absolutely one of the most tasteful acoustic guitar pieces i've ever heard. the transitions are all natural and believable. this is incredible, and i mean that sincerely. i like the rest of what you've recorded, but i really enjoyed listening to this. it caught my attention and held it on more than one occasion.
Love it, Kirk! What amazing reeds you must make!
nice classical/electric sound and good fretboard work i especially liked the chromatic downdrift in the main chordal theme.
