Midnight in COWTOWN. 90 degrees
Too hot for a blanket. Too hot for a sheet
The trash on the sidewalk is trying to sleep
Breathing the bus fumes on Lancaster Street...
Sunshine brings tacos…

You have such a unique way with words James. Love your song. I will have to share it with my son in law. He is a volunteer twice a week at the homeless shelter. He is about to have surgery on his left arm this morning so he will have to miss a bit.

Great! It's like telling her that there's never a moment when she is not the center of focus.

I think of you very often even when it's not spoken the words are in my mind more than just a token or poem spoken out loud I'm proud to call you a friend who also writes wonderful songs and I often sing along my voice soft or strong always makes me feel real good and I should say it happens every time I think of you. On every guitar string is a note and there's a song at the end of any pencil you might pick up and write down on a piece of paper
Any song you write always fuels my imagination and makes me think and that's a wonderful gift you have Jim thanks nice work

Okay, I did not get that vibe but that makes sense.
Something I missed for many years was singing in a choir. Now that I have multitracking I don't miss it any more.

Where did this one come from? I think it demonstrates your range as a songwriter because most of your songs are personal experience and this is very different. Nice job. I like it.

Not that he did not do a great job with the song....
But, because this is so sad, when you think about how some people actually do this!
I have kept cats off and on pretty much my whole life.
I find that they are highly intelligent souls, and can be very loving!
It reminds me of a story that I read in the paper, many years ago about a German

I have a song in the movie THE VANISHING. That movie starred Jeff Bridges and Keefer Southerland. I did all the music in a movie called RED DESERT PENITENTIARY. A film maker in Austin is finishing a short movie with about nine of my songs in it. Another Dallas film makes used me as an actor in a film recently and used a piece of mine as the theme song for that actor. It all adds up...to....something. Except for the Vanishing and Dark Blood there is no money.

Oh, that! I was nominated for Best Texas Music when my music isn't about Texas at all. It's all silly. It's all about the young musicians in town. They have a big blow out at the awards shin dig and everybody has fun but nobody takes it seriously about who is really the best in town.
That movie is called DARK BLOOD, finally to be finished by the director, George Sluizer. The movie was started in 1993 and production ceased when River Phoenix died of an overdose. Now it is being finished with narration filling in the unshot scenes. I suspect it will get a lot of attention because if it being River's last film and the circumstances.

I don't have too many old songs left to upload, so I'm digging into "B" side territory. This is an old song I wrote while at uni, lyrics are pretty naive, but so was i back then.
IMO John sounds like David Essex. :)

Lyrics:
Here you come, my sweet baby
Don’t know why you drive me crazy
I’m crazy, in love with you
And it’s been a long long…
About someone (who may or may not be myself) who may have smoked a little too much of a particular herb in the past.
As I sit here alone
With my hand on the bong
And I light another match
And I pull another cone
I don’t know where I will…
About someone (who may or may not be myself) who may have smoked a little too much of a particular herb in the past.
As I sit here alone
With my hand on the bong
And I light another match
And I pull another cone
I don’t know where I will…
I thought so little of this song at first I filed it away in a folder on my hard disk called "nogood". About a year later I listened to it again and changed my mind.

Greg, I don't know about that contest. I DID get a song in an upcoming movie recently so that is a lot like winning a contest.
You songs are like slide shows... Little movies.
...sometimes the answer is "Yes", and sometimes, "No."
"...tin cup in a water pail..." Been there. Your song is full of very clear pictures. Like it.
Nice. I can hear the Beatles singing this.
Great energy. Great story.
I like it but I want to hear your words...
Very nice..."another place and another time..."
I second what Bethan said, "Sweet."
I understand. I have the same problem with a lot of old material.
Mix your voice so we can hear your lyric or include the lyric in the "about" section. I want to understand what you are saying.
Wish the voice wasn't so buried in the mix... Sounds real good.
Like it...glad you dug it back out. Sometimes we are too close to something when we first do it.
