Jimmy, I like this one. You mentioned the other day, that you might consider adding some cello to one of your new songs... ??? This version is only 2:09... seems to me... there might be plenty of room for a few bars of cello instrumental to float around between the words! But you know me... I have often mentioned to you, how good some of your instrumentals really are... and I have often thought that you, yourself, under appreciate yourself... when it comes to your own instrumentals. I love that...reading and listening to it..! Love the sounds...i can feel the amercan poet in the music...and the vocal sound is really full... That song just makes me want to buy an old guitar....i keep lookin in the second hand stores around here...but theres no guitars...i dream that someday i’ll walk into anthony o hallorans second hand / antique shop, and there’ll be some old gem of a six string , archtop maybe, or a rusty old tele...full of mojo...waiting there for me to find...! I check every time im passing his place....i think i’ll never stop waiting.... But yes...thats a great track....you should send that out to dream guitars shop...in ashville....paul huemiller owns it....or some such shop....i bet one of those places would love that song for a website....im doin my website at the mo....id love to put that track on my instruments page...! Then people could send pics of the old guitars they bought and i could post those pics too...wouldnt that be a bit of craic....fun...we all buy guitars....a choir of guitar pickers could sing it....we buy guitars..✌️ Also...i never saw the link between telescopes amd guitars before....but i do now...its a cold night here...and a clear sky full of stars....Matt

For years and years and years... this was the only JMT album I owned... this was the only JMT album that I knew existed; and this has always been one of my "most favorite" songs... not just one of my favorite JMT songs... one of my most favorite songs ever. I loved Barbara's voice and her timing and her range... and how she sang the song so... realistically. It was as if she and I were actually having this exchange in some noisy crowed smoke filled lounge. I never meet Barbara in person... but I knew her for years and years and years, Bye' Barbara... you are remembered.

I have a song in the movie THE VANISHING. That movie starred Jeff Bridges and Keefer Southerland. I did all the music in a movie called RED DESERT PENITENTIARY. A film maker in Austin is finishing a short movie with about nine of my songs in it. Another Dallas film makes used me as an actor in a film recently and used a piece of mine as the theme song for that actor. It all adds up...to....something. Except for the Vanishing and Dark Blood there is no money.

Oh, that! I was nominated for Best Texas Music when my music isn't about Texas at all. It's all silly. It's all about the young musicians in town. They have a big blow out at the awards shin dig and everybody has fun but nobody takes it seriously about who is really the best in town. That movie is called DARK BLOOD, finally to be finished by the director, George Sluizer. The movie was started in 1993 and production ceased when River Phoenix died of an overdose. Now it is being finished with narration filling in the unshot scenes. I suspect it will get a lot of attention because if it being River's last film and the circumstances.

Greg, I don't know about that contest. I DID get a song in an upcoming movie recently so that is a lot like winning a contest.
