EVERYTHING
Everything you know or think you know
Everything you know is wrong
Life ain't no hootenanny
and you don't have to sing along
You can laugh and you can mumble
You can hold your breath
Take a little piece of my heart now honey…
THE LESSON
I saw her in a music store in Fort Worth, Texas
I'd driven in to buy some strings
It was like getting hit by a little fist in my solar plexis
when she said, “Can you help me tune this thing?”
She had a smile. A thin disguise…
TESLA
Who invented remote control? TESLA
Who invented the fluorescent light? TESLA
Who invented the radio? TESLA
And who died alone and forgotten in 1943? TESLA
So, you say now, “Don’t be angry.”
And you say, “Just tell the story…

WHERE
Where will I spend the rest of our life?
Where will I live our tomorrow
Our only hope springs from within your sorrow
And if I thot your pain could be bought
I'd start saving today for tomorrow
Where, where
Our only hope springs…
" ...and if I thought, your pain could be bought, I'd start saving today, for tomorrow." My Gawd, My Gawd! Who else but JMT could write such a great line!
This song is akin to REMEMBERING BABE. Another night to Keren's. Almost got caught by the cops. Saw 'em coming so Babe and I hid in the olive orchard until they turned off the spot light and left. THEN, I did what came to be called my Night Ride…
My favorite song by Jane Bowers
She was still alive back when I 1st learned
this song from the Kingston Trio.
I didn't know, back then, that I could have met her.
WHEN I WAS YOUNG by Jane Bowers
When I was young and dreams were new…
Sadly, Annie and Allan are now divorced...
The games are over...
Annie & Allan
Annie and Allan were having a problem
Made a decision to go their own ways
Annie and Allan made an announcement
Not even knowing how it saddened…
I was in Spain, in the Pyrenees, working on THE STONE RAFT. I was the only American, read, "English speaker." I was feeling very alone.

The Fading Yellow Ribbon
There’s a fading yellow ribbon
around the oak tree in the yard
Each day they walk out to the mail box
but even walking’s getting hard
And they’re looking for a letter
that they fear will not arrive
It’s a letter…
Well you've made my eyes leak again. I keep listening to your songs and I keep leaking. I might have developed an allergy of some kind but I'll keep listening. Really touching.
I wrote this at my dad's urging. He likes it. We sing it together. I have YouTube Video of it up.

Returned today to listen, and so glad I did! It is a wonderful song. I like the timber of your vocals, too. There is a soft edge that serves the song so well because of its subject. I respond too, as an Okie, having lived for 40 years in Sapulpa and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fav lines might be, "Red dirt back yard, Gramma’s place

We've all met them! Haha. Got a bit of a rocky head on doing this.

In splendid honour of her majesty queen elizabeth 2nd, celebrating 60 years of being the queen of england and the commonwealth nations. God bless ya maam.
According to John this lyric was inspired by the weird visions of a former sports reporter who now thinks the people in high political places are actually lizard men from space. :D

I have a song in the movie THE VANISHING. That movie starred Jeff Bridges and Keefer Southerland. I did all the music in a movie called RED DESERT PENITENTIARY. A film maker in Austin is finishing a short movie with about nine of my songs in it. Another Dallas film makes used me as an actor in a film recently and used a piece of mine as the theme song for that actor. It all adds up...to....something. Except for the Vanishing and Dark Blood there is no money.

Oh, that! I was nominated for Best Texas Music when my music isn't about Texas at all. It's all silly. It's all about the young musicians in town. They have a big blow out at the awards shin dig and everybody has fun but nobody takes it seriously about who is really the best in town.
That movie is called DARK BLOOD, finally to be finished by the director, George Sluizer. The movie was started in 1993 and production ceased when River Phoenix died of an overdose. Now it is being finished with narration filling in the unshot scenes. I suspect it will get a lot of attention because if it being River's last film and the circumstances.

I don't have too many old songs left to upload, so I'm digging into "B" side territory. This is an old song I wrote while at uni, lyrics are pretty naive, but so was i back then.
IMO John sounds like David Essex. :)

Lyrics:
Here you come, my sweet baby
Don’t know why you drive me crazy
I’m crazy, in love with you
And it’s been a long long…
About someone (who may or may not be myself) who may have smoked a little too much of a particular herb in the past.
As I sit here alone
With my hand on the bong
And I light another match
And I pull another cone
I don’t know where I will…

Well that makes me happy.
Besides you that is.
Russ Emerick wondered, who is singing?
Well you've made my eyes leak again. I keep listening to your songs and I keep leaking. I might have developed an allergy of some kind but I'll keep listening. Really touching.
A great day-starter!
Full of drama, sounds like a movie track
That's the way it happened.

Very cool. ...and thank you for your comment. Looks like we are both in the same business when it comes to war...
LIKE THIS.
Sounds like your version of Helter Skelter...
Real cause for the blues.
Sounds like someone is having fun. Reminds me of when I was a kid and Mom taught me to put wax paper over a comb.
Cool song...

Greg, I don't know about that contest. I DID get a song in an upcoming movie recently so that is a lot like winning a contest.
You songs are like slide shows... Little movies.
...sometimes the answer is "Yes", and sometimes, "No."
"...tin cup in a water pail..." Been there. Your song is full of very clear pictures. Like it.
Nice. I can hear the Beatles singing this.
Great energy. Great story.
I like it but I want to hear your words...
Very nice..."another place and another time..."
I second what Bethan said, "Sweet."
I understand. I have the same problem with a lot of old material.
Mix your voice so we can hear your lyric or include the lyric in the "about" section. I want to understand what you are saying.
