Who Knew
Jefferson Cole
This was a good challenge for me. I had bits and pieces of songs half done and I needed to finish this project to round it out.
Who Knew ©2015 Jeff Cole
Just leave a number
I have gone for a drive
Electric reflections
on a 3x5
I gotta leave this town
And let them now I’m alive
Heat lightning flash
miss my exit town
They want me to come home
but I know the reason now
And I run a/c
with the windows down
The only one driving
in the deep of the night
surviving on high beams
And those far away lights.
My gut feels so right
Hammer out your dreams
with a rusty nail .
you know I hate say it
But my mind’s been in jail
And Summer’s brought a key
With no fear to fail
Standing in a meadow when I heard the lightning crash
Never knew a man or boy who could run so fast
Tripping on the wires at the edge of your farm
you know you insult me when you tell me you meant no harm.
Never gonna sing your blues
I’m tired of paying your dues
You gave me nothing to lose
forever is through Who Knew ?
Great sense of time and place and voices. John Lennon tucked up under your voice. Great guitar sound. Do I hear violins at 2:20?
Thanks castraitbrothers , appreciate you stopping by and giving a listen and the feedback.
Great emotion in here, excellent musicianship
thanks Robert and thetworegs for giving a listen and the feedback. Really appreciate it.
Really like how the synch sets the mood - vocals fits nicely... well done! Reminds me of an old band called David + David
Great Song! You have a lot going on here! I love the lonely feel of this and how it evolves throughout the song. Outstanding Lyrics: *"And I run a/c with the windows down"* & *"Tripping on the wires at the edge of your farm"* I like the bass line. Nice contribution to the *"Who Knew"* Challenge. This is a great addition to the challenge. Lots of really cool things going on in this song. Love the bridge / chorus!!! Great vocals.
