This montage is about making music and what it means to people. It uses comments from a number of classical musicians interviewed for a radio series I record and produce called "The Main Street Sessions". The music is from "The Gospel of Thomas…
Great idea, people. "World class rock from the middle of nowhere." Hey, please check out my demos: http://alonetone.com/skumpybunk/tracks. Thanks a bunch.
There was a contest. I entered. I made the Top 100 and the Judges' Picks lists. Looking back on the whole thing, I'm REALLY glad I didn't win. It was the "Public Radio Talent Quest." The idea was to find the next great public radio host. Three…
@glu - Yes, back! Listening more than contributing, but back! Brevard is a little jewel. White squirrels, water falls, music festival and all. Thanks for listening.
I am singing/vocalizing audio to accompany short scenes in a film made by an artist friend of mine. She calls it "Pattern Pattern". This segment goes with a snowy scene where shadows move in and out like wolves.
A piece I produced for Classical Public Radio last fall after interviewing conductor Stefan Sanderling. What he has to say about music and why he does what he does is powerful, especially against the backdrop of music from Shostakovich's Symphony…
A year ago the Public Radio Exchange hosted a "Public Radio Talent Quest" inviting 2-minute entries from across the country from folks who wanted to be the next great public radio host. Thousands entered. Three won. I created this commemorative…
More vocalizing and mashing for the soundtrack for my artist friend's film, "Pattern Pattern." This accompanies a scene of lights flashing in and out of sequence.

I like your description of the scene, and the movie sounds intriguing. Nice chilly dissonance there with the echoed half-step down. I Also noticed that I'm commenting on a bit from many months ago... so inquiring minds want to know, how is the movie coming along? I know these can become huge projects. From what I've heard here, I'd love to see what you come up with, if possible.
Also for the film, "Pattern Pattern," this goes with a scene of an artist. First you see him up close for a moment. He's drawing. Then you see him walking a distant ridge at dusk.
it is a lone ghost of a woman's voice. it is beautiful and haunting. it is she-thereal. the song takes the mind to that distant ridge. it is a voice that can be listened to forever. 0x0

a curved voice. it is a great instrument. i repeat. it is a great instrument. especially when it is repeated. this was a good experiment. wishes for a great film.
This song was written after moving into a new apartment. One of the movers put a coin in the door hinge to keep the door open so that he wouldn't have to bother me for keys. I thought it was so cool and smart and sleek and simple. I wanted him…
Great to hear some acoustic instruments at work here in addition to the usual suspects. . This seems to straddle the DJ and "serious music" worlds. You familiar with Mason Bates, a.k.a. DJMasonic? Julliard grad. Writes for orchestra on the one hand, produces great electronica/IDM on the other out in San Fran.
Comments on jennifer's stuff

You are a hoot.
This one would make Thom Yorke cry in his beer.
I want to run my hand over this one. Nice and bumpy. Perfectly quirky.

crazy good
Excellent mix!
Monster creative, you are.
Love the clarity in the vocals. Nice, focused sound that gets gritty in all the right spots.
