Midwinter 1
kavin.
Rough draft Gustav Holst’s In the Bleak Midwinter. Debating whether to ruin this with a vocal part or not.
Very, very nice!!! I can see myself sat in a high place over Texas (Big Bend?), staring at the horizon and listening to this music!
I usually like lyrics, but in this case (to answer your question) less is more. I like the way this hangs together on it's own. As I said earlier, VERY PRETTY
One of my favourite Christmas carols beautifully played sir.
Dreamily. Singing, being intimate, should not destroy magic here. The main thing - do not overdo with it ;-)
most lovely ,,,, im not much of a singer myself, but if there are words that call to you why not give it a go,,, then we can all have 2 songs to fav...... the cadence of this is very nice and most comforting ,,, merry mid winter
Ah, a wintry treat!
Very nice Kavin! I am really digging this one, it doesn't need a thing :)
this is so beautiful as it is, think anything else would detract chappy. just great as it is
Very nice man. I say run one with a vocal and one without. Let the listener decide. ;)
Well , I say its a great track on its own. If you do a vocal upload so we can a/b them I like iT!
Beautiful guitar track, Kavin. Maybe whisper-y vocals with heavy reverb or just a subtle accompanying guitar might add just enough.
P.S. I don't know about "ruin" with a vocal part, probably not "ruin" but it does hold up nicely as is......just my penn'orth. Jarvo
I did not know ol' Gustav had written this ...very nice arrangement... Jarvo
Very enjoyable song. I'm always a sucker for acoustic guitar!
Thanks Kirk. One channel is dry miked guitar with SM57, one channel thru the DL4, auto volume swell setting.
Gorgeous! How did you get that effect on the guitar? Sounds like a second guitar with the attack time slowed down. Nice!
Great tune.
