Quick recording of a new set of pipes I'm working on. Long winded explanation- prior to the late 19nth century most Irish pipes featured very small bores and finger holes and were pitched well below modern concert pitch. I've always loved them…

More ambient experimentation with my fretless guitar and Roland GR20. This time I used some sounds from the magnetic pickups as well as the midi pickup. Kind of a cheesy synth patch I know, but it was working for me!

Solo acoustic finger picking thing I've been working on for a while. Sometime around 1968 I started studying with Mr. George Bennett who taught me the rudiments of finger picking. Later when we played some gigs together he also taught me the rudiments…
Another Live performance with former band mates in Scartaglen back in 1988 on the NPR show Mountain Stage. This time a piece of Gaelic mouth music followed by 3 reels. Maybe the most complex arrangement of a set of tunes that we ever did.
great sound. Very lively and engaging. I may well have heard this 'live' on the radio as this one a show I listened to frequently back during this time.

Didn't sound cheesy to me. Besides, I was very drawn to old-skool patches when I could do it on my kurzweil. This is a beautiful and relaxing piece and didn't 'feel' like five and a half minutes. Much enjoyed.
Maybe I missed a career scoring for no budget spaghetti westerns, because this is what this reminds me of. Done live a couple weeks ago with the Taylor and a floor full of toys and loopers.

A bit of improv done yesterday with my newly refurbished fretless guitar. Finally got the midi pickup to track almost right! Part of the sounds were gotten by rubbing a teaspoon on the strings.

What happened after too much time on youtube watching live vids of "voodoo chile" Noisy obnoxious and very cathartic for me! Live to 2tracks with the Jamman

This one is a personal favorite of mine, though it got savaged on Garageband.com. Ah well...
It has a lot of parts, lots of gtrs, and boatloads of harmonies. Actually, one guy on Garageband loved it. Maybe some day I will buy him a drink.
Listen…
Melodic, peaceful, and trance-inducing instrumental. Used a synth clav as the underlying thematic instrument, then layered a few other things on top. The "guitar" counter-melody at the end is me playing a bass in the upper registers.

A collaboration between me, Randal Pflum and Dayton Neely. Comparisons made by reviewers on Garageband.com to Rush, King Crimson, Yes and even Mike Oldfield, you will have to listen to the whole thing to hear the last one.
It's actually a redo of one of my earlier songs. I changed the lyrics a bit, the title and rerecorded the whole thing. The original is called, "I've Changed."
I've got a really painful head cold right now. I thought between bouts of pain I would…
You had me on this one from the opening drum groove. Love the Head cold vocals! Those atmospheric almost disturbing background lines are just too cool!
Another experiment.
Today Eos was released. In trying it out, I found 7 random synth clips in my library (not entirely random but they might as well have been). These are fed for somewhat random durations and order through 4 Eos reverbs in…
