That's When You'll Know
I’m singing lead on this. It was recorded to 24 track, 2 inch tape, I’m thinking. I have those somewhere, but they’ve turned gooey. Sadly, it seems to go into the red during the chorus, but I can’t fix that now. I have more stories about the people involved in this recording experience than I can shake a stick at and, certainly more than I have room to share here, but I do hope you enjoy listening to it. And maybe someday, I’ll write that book. (*See exciting update below.)
- In one of those serendipitous moments I love, five minutes after I posted this story about the gooey tapes, I got a call from an amazing producer, Phil York, who I worked with years ago (He did not even know about alonetone until I told him today.) who is an expert at cleaning up old tapes and is going to do that for me. Woohoo! I can’t wait to hear the results.
Thank you for all the comments and kind words. And the translation trick was heart warming. You have a realy lovely voice.Greetz
I wish we could do a nice Willie Nelson tribute, but an original tune. The title would be Can I Call You Willie?
beautiful voice. Musta been sad about the tapes going all gooey on ya. This is REALLY beautiful.
very fine,, reminds me of when i used to sit out at the drive in watching the heat lightning eating, an ice creme cone with my wife in the humid Del Rio evening,, fine job all around
Wonderful vocals, and a nice song to boot. At least going into the red on tape isn't nearly as bad as doing it with digital...
Wow what a voice!!!
This is very timely and classic. Great singing and backing music. Definitely a winner! Was this recorded to tape? It sounds like it's going 'into the red' but either way this has a great feel to it.
To elaborate - Alexis.. this song is so great. I love this song.
What a voice!!! Great tune, too!
Damn, that's just wonderful. Great vox, very professional sound and your a welcome addition to this site.
Oh yeah! Wish you were playing next Saturday night near us! Makes me want to get an ice cold one and sway into dancin' with my baby.
Love your tracks you have a beautiful voice, I can hear a mixture of Olivia Neweton John and Eva Cassiday.
I love Country at the best of times, buuut, when it's packaged like this Alexis, I'm just a wreck.
Awesome!
