A single track of improvised chromatically tuned congas in 7/8, accented with clave, guiro, cajon and quinto.
(For those who may be interested in collaborating on this, the triplet phrasing of this groove may be most easily counted like this…
A 7/8 improvisation on a set of 3 Bata drums, accented with afucha, tube shekere and cowbell.
The number 7 is a symbol for perfection or completeness: 7 colors in a rainbow, 7 musical notes in a scale, 7 days = a week, etc.

This is really nice work - laid back and exotic. Very nice balance between the music and the percussion - tastefully done. Since I'm listening before the description went up I'm very curious who you collaborated with - they did a nice job on the music.
At a recent charity event held in my small town's train museum, I was admiring a massive brass train bell when the curator walked up to me. I commented that a bell would really rather be heard then seen, and he agreed. I offered to digitally record…

A bit of improv done yesterday with my newly refurbished fretless guitar. Finally got the midi pickup to track almost right! Part of the sounds were gotten by rubbing a teaspoon on the strings.
Didnt mean to have a political slant but had just got denied my large order soft drink in Manhattan.
All thats left are the small sodas with the "NY loves big cans" tee shirts
This is a collab song with MTC. I almost hated adding anything to it cuz the first track he sent me was kickass vintage Jim. It totally changed flavors in the collab process, but still one of my favs
This is the third, maybe forth time I recorded this tune.
I like this one best.

I've been messing and listening to a lot of Tom Waites i suppose his influence has rubbed of a bit ...well a little anyway...........
I want the love (Lyrics)
Crawling in the gutter trying to stand with phone
To tell you that I love you…

i need her,
i believed her
she was hollow and untrue
My baby, she don't want me,
i don't know what to do

I did the guitar and bass tracks first, then procured my 10 year olds cello for the main bass line :) I also tried my luck playing cello with a bow on this track- which was a new experience.

I had the pleasure of hearing an alternative version of this song. One where the green fairy exploded. It was good. Norm agrees that a) both versions are awesome, and that b) bottle rockets are good. ~Eloise
Comments on Norm's stuff
Stunning.
I absolutely adore melodic drums...and while delicate...this is one HEAVY and head-bobbin' groove. Nice one...very nice one.
I think we all have our different way's to bring life deeply back in our soul's again.. Well done..

Nice groove there. Shades of Santana without the guitar of course.

I wish I had been there. With Kirk. First round's on me. Send a double up to the guitar player.
Very clever Reg. I agree.

Pssst. Hey buddy. Over here. I can hook you up with a 32oz Mountain Dew...
Totally pro.
Go Team!
HOLD THE PHONE!! This is unusually excellent. I really enjoyed this one, on all levels. And listen to your sister... up just a bit with the vocals.
One of your tightest yet!
Yes, this was Dan's best album.
Ok. Now, finally, it is clear who I must vote for.
Ha! fun video. Did you use any effects on that?
"This video is private". Now I REALLY want to see it...
That IS an awesome gong clip.
This smacks of Desiree. Get over it Reg!
@David: Haha! You mean this is not in regard to Michael Jackson??
Far out indeed. Nice work.
did it hurt so good?
What the hell??!!?? Where are the bottle rockets? (Enjoying Absinthe as I write this)
