I wrote this song as one in a series of potential songs to be performed at a friends wedding. I liked this one so much that I modified the lyrics and recorded this version as part of my "Transition" album.

I created "This is life" in a bad mood. I just picked a nice drumloop and started to improvise on my keyboard and I'm very happy with the harmonies arised from my mind or hands :)

I heard a great song by a songwriter from the island of Java while eating at an Ethiopian restaurant once. The feel of the song struck a chord in me and several weeks later this song poured out as a response to his beautiful island music.

This started as a homegrown piano loop. I cut it to 40 seconds, pasted 4 times, then I added 2 cups of confectioner's sugar, and a dash of salt.
