This track was my attempted submission for Ramen Music #001. I finally got around to uploading it here.
It was made using several instances of the Max for Live instrument "Loop Shifter" that I played in real-time using my Novation Launchpad…
Felt the need to go back to something more sound driven.
I've been learning a lot of new Jazz chords and wondered what they might sound like as pads. I ended up creating a device chain in Ableton Live featuring Alchemy, Omnisphere, and Absynth…
very nice sound space,, the sounds do pan well through my speakers (just got a new set, and this sounds really cool),, i am always impressed by the range for music/sound/feelings found on alonetone,, from my old piano plunking to your spatial symphony,, through the great guitar and vocals,, so much here to enjoy,, anyhow well played

Love all the different sounds and textures. I sure am a sucker for textured and layered sounds in music! Some really cool 'underwater' sounds! Thanks for your recent comment on my newest song 'The End'.

Chilling and charismatic. Love all the different elements that force unsettling images in to my mind. Dark steps down shiney corridors, naked lightbulbs swinging from decaying ceilings... Okay, maybe I don't "love" that, but I'm definitely impressed by it! I think the Brothers Quay will be after you.

An experiment in using [Photosounder](http://photosounder.com/) which is a spectral editing tool.
This track started as a sharp tin can hit which I turned into a droning gong. But I had no idea where to go next.
So I started rifling through…
Well now, this is actually a very old track, made back in March '09 and not that long after I started learning piano.
I was learning a very simple 12-bar blues piece and getting bored with the piano sound I started messing about with the Logic…

thanks re skree. the thing about noise (for me) is it can be so fun! there's a built-in visceral excitement and the challenge is harnessing it into musical contexts.
man, Lao Jia is hypnotizing me!
One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. This was the last track I did, and it shows.

I'd wanted to play around with Guitar Rig 3 since getting it at the weekend. The guitars are ableton loops mangled with guitar…
One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. This was the second track I did.
I'm an old trance head, so I had to have a go at making a trance tune during the 24 hours. This had the advantage that I could stretch out the breakdown…
One of four tracks I did for the August 2009 24 hour challenge. I'd just finished the trance track, it was 3am, and I wanted something completely different.
It's 110bpm, the piano is NI AkousticPiano Steingraber 130. The bass and organ are done…
This is quite an old track that got abandoned because I didn't feel it was right or going anywhere.
But listening to it in iTunes this morning I thought it passed muster. I don't think it has enough variation to justify it's length but it's gently…

MMi's Voices
http://alonetone.com/mmi/tracks/voices-3
MMi wrote the song. I programmed percussion, recorded tabla and vocals.
This is the first public output after going through about 40% of nickstutorials.com sound design series.
All the sounds started off with my sampling myself either saying something, clicking my fingers or clapping. They were recorded through…
A morning storm recorded in the courtyard and a musical motif written in the evening. combined time working-- 45 minutes, interrupted by a phone call from the parents to see if I was still alive.
Ambient guitar with generous reverb served up on a bed of glitched up vocal samples.
Boring technical details:
Puremagnetik voxbox micropak came with a bunch of vocal clips. I put them all into live and gave them all follow actions to play…
an exposition, traditional,of the raga ,bilaskani todi, transformed into a slightly dark ambient piece of music, exploring musical landscapes, inspired by a scenario,as if for a film, which my music normallt is.
This track started off with an idea. The idea was an instrument setup such that I could play a single note, or octave and have arps and stuff built it up...
I failed in that experiment by getting carried down the add more effects road and before…
I decided to focus by timeboxing the amount of time I spent on drums, bass and lead into 30 min sections based on the pomodoro technique. The idea was to spend 5 mins picking the sound for each part, then 25 mins making some loops with it to arrange…
Just realized I wasn't following you so I hadn't noticed your latest track. It's got some lovely, ethereal, sounds in here and a beat that really carries it along. Cool track. So, it's been nearly two weeks, when can we expect Pomodoro 2? :)
Increasingly I think the music I am making is less about sound design and more about expressing some of the things inside of me that want out. I guess I may be starting to know what I want.

Stop motion! Stop motion!
Lovely crackles in this one. Tons of wonderful textures.
Well spotted Kirk, yes.
What an experiment! Is that the "all around my hat" sample?
In my hands Loop Shifter is anything but subtle :)
might be a leeetle to experimental for what they want for Ramen, but I liked it! Bethan singing? Really?
The more I hear this, the more inspired I am to do something really sinister.
Billowy. Those sounds layered quite nicely!
great dream ambient
Yeah man. Crunchy!

loving the sounds and atmosphere. i gotta listen again.
What a blend dude! Great software!
Sounds like the soundtrack to someone being slowly drugged at a carnival. Very effective! Love the underground gong sound. Deliciously dark!
This is sensational! Permission to download, loop and warble on?

Great 24hr album octo!
Trippy, reminds me of days long gone :)
Love this track! The intro is especially great, really hooked me into it.
Enjoyed this one a lot. Simple beat but some great sounds and variations to keep it going.
This has a great, laid back vibe. I love the organs (must check out B4) and the horns. Sweet.
glu: :)
Sister is so cheap, not buying herself a thesaurus, that she has to steal "WOW!" from me... hands off! WOW! :)
Dreamy :)
This is awesomely impressive man.
Cool sound.
Sounds like film music, reminiscent of a western. Right now I'd like to be the hero striding into that storm because it is too HOT!
This one grew on me as it went along. The 'verbed guitars are very nice. I expect to hear more of them in due course ;-)
Good music to code to, kinda reminds me of Zatôichi.
Lovely, too short :)
Love this one.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Wow. Beautiful, grimy, like someone giving a last salute to a barge full of gravel going over a waterfall.

And thank you all guys. It's great to get feedback :)
MM: Well ... it hadn't occurred to me but I did just buy my first dub album and listen to it today ... maybe it did influence me.
