LYRICS:
We are all ghosts
who walk the earth
Everyone you see and
everyone you don't see
Don't know we're dead
through self-deception
People pretend
it turns out well
Don't know what'll happen after this
but I can

I'm afraid of death. Hope I don't die when I'm 44.
LYRICS:
The man in black professed to me
the secret of this life
The conundrum of human pain
The reason for this strife
It doesn't make much sense
I knew that much was true
But what…
Ever feel like you're running in place?
LYRICS:
It's time for reformation
Moment's here to strike
I'm whipping winds of change up
on my stationary bike
I will sing this song
I will sing this song aloud
if I'm allowed
With my inner…
I wanted to write a song with piano, it pretty much wrote itself. (The chromatic structure of the guitar solo had been in my head untabbed for years.)

Flexible bullet fired at me
Following some unknown trajectory
Piercing the walls…

I think I would like it better if you didn't synthesize the fuck out of your voice on most of your songs. Sounds a lot like Radiohead with queens of the stone age backup with Dave grohl drumming..
I recorded this back in February for the RPM... then I got all distracted by non-discontent and work. I finally decided to go ahead and just abandon the album - but here is the one decent track I made :)
Light a Fire

So I moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and it's been a good experience. However it was tough to leave some people behind. This song is about that.
BTW, there is a riff about 8 minutes in written by my buddy Chris Schugg

Something new for ya. Had to piece this one together . . . wasn't much to go on since Nirvana was just messing around on this song, but that's part of the fun, extrapolating stuff.
For the record, I used the chords for the chorus that Nirvana…

I wanted to do a country song for my brother Mike, but I really don't know much about country music. This is the result.
Hope you like it, Mike.

I thought this was a cool title until I found out what it was.

Kinda rough. I'm uploading this mainly to share a guitar technique I've been working on. I'm wearing a slide on my picking hand and using it to alter pitches in single line phrases. There's a lot more can be done with this technique that I've…

This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

Buddy Holly's music has been very central to my life.
Sometimes I try to write a Buddy Holly song.
I really REALLY like this . . . . I really dig the hard sound. This rocks . . . very Beatleseque in a good way.
Surprised I never checked out your stuff before now.
An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track
Holy fuck, how cool where those amplified guitars!!!!! I would have never expected this song to take that turn.
Seriously, awesome job on outrocking most of the boys on the radio. Reminds me of Heart in a way.
I swore that I would NEVER upload this. Was having a bad day trying to loop "nice" acoustic guitar sounds and got frustrated so grabbed my Taylor and plugged it into a cheesy Effects box and straight into the looper. Started twiddling knobs and…

Comments on Permanent Tourist's stuff
Are The Black Keys or Beck an influence in your music? Wouldn't surprise me.
strange but kewl
I'm not sure what it is about this track, but it just totally rocks. Kinda reminds me of the Pumpkins, which I do love...
You've got some neat songs. Someone should give you a contract.
Trippy shit.
Reminds me of Helter Skelter. Nice.
Great song, angry and joy-filled at the same time
What an ambitious song cycle. This starts it out in fine form.
Quite a trip! I like!
Awesome
Cool song
On the lighter side you have potential I think you just need more heads

..ah, l'momEnt

you've gotta alot of cool songs...like your descriptions too.
I love backwards sometimes...one direction just gets boring after a while. :)
Octopus candy. Cool arrangement.

Wistful. Right up my alley.
If someone has a problem with my personal views, stay the fuck off my music page!
@ Guest . . . yeah I probably would. ;)
@ Zack Facco I write them out, and then I play/record each part twice.

Hmm- this sounds so familiar . . . .
Love your stuff, but when will there be something new?!?!? Grrr . . . . :)
I like the chord choice as well.
Where is this Rose, and where can I meet her?
More polychords make their appearance . .. you're a sneaky composer, almost like Ralph Vaughn Williams meets Isaac Albeniz, if that makes sense.

Wonderful tones . . . soothing

I dig it. (I'm not criticizing, but a tiny bit of reverb/echo on the drums would be perfect.)
Your stuff seems to getting more adventurous and progressive, and I really like it. Why no thumbs up icon?
This is very good. P.S. I'd really love to hear you do something with a heavier Sabbathy/AIC-type riff underneath.
