I've just finished the music on 17 songs and I still have to go through and do the vocals, a daunting undertaking. Before I add vocals, to whet the appetite . . .
This one will eventually have lyrics about dead country stars and such.

I used to smoke sometimes, so what.
Lyrics (as requested):
Got a bag of weed
Know how to be numb
Light it up and pass it
We all can be dumb
It's fun to smoke marijuana
I'm one to toke when I wanna
I know I'm not poor
enough to…
I wanted to write a song with piano, it pretty much wrote itself. (The chromatic structure of the guitar solo had been in my head untabbed for years.)
LYRICS:
Flexible bullet fired at me
Following some unknown trajectory
Piercing the walls…
I used to smoke sometimes, so what.

songs have a gentle flow, matched by complementary smooth vocals, they are not sleepy or slow at all, just, without too many sharp edges, even at the odd points, where something might not be perfect, even with heavy distortion flowing in and out of the mix, these songs don't cut the eardrum at all, and they are beautiful. intensely complex, yet never frantic. dont mean to effervesce over your stuff, but, it is just great!
good stuff, nice use of backing vocals. like the improvaciousness of the totally rockin guitar. The lickiness of it, i think I mean.
it's cohesive and sounds interesting. great dynamics.
I recorded this back in February for the RPM... then I got all distracted by non-discontent and work. I finally decided to go ahead and just abandon the album - but here is the one decent track I made :)
Light a Fire

everyday…
So I moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and it's been a good experience. However it was tough to leave some people behind. This song is about that.
BTW, there is a riff about 8 minutes in written by my buddy Chris Schugg

Something new for ya. Had to piece this one together . . . wasn't much to go on since Nirvana was just messing around on this song, but that's part of the fun, extrapolating stuff.
For the record, I used the chords for the chorus that Nirvana…

I wanted to do a country song for my brother Mike, but I really don't know much about country music. This is the result.
Hope you like it, Mike.

All I got is bills

I thought this was a cool title until I found out what it was.

Kinda rough. I'm uploading this mainly to share a guitar technique I've been working on. I'm wearing a slide on my picking hand and using it to alter pitches in single line phrases. There's a lot more can be done with this technique that I've…

This track is from the 1986 Scartaglen album "The Middle Path". The first tune "Jezaig" was composed by Breton musician Gilles Le Bigot. The second tune is one of the "Cantigas de Santa Maria" and is attributed to King Alfonso X of Spain

Buddy Holly's music has been very central to my life.
Sometimes I try to write a Buddy Holly song.
I really REALLY like this . . . . I really dig the hard sound. This rocks . . . very Beatleseque in a good way.
Surprised I never checked out your stuff before now.
An unusual traditional tune from the first Scartaglen album way back in 1984. Going through stuff the other day and ran across the LP and couldn't even remember the tune or having recorded it. I played guitar on this track
Holy fuck, how cool where those amplified guitars!!!!! I would have never expected this song to take that turn.
Seriously, awesome job on outrocking most of the boys on the radio. Reminds me of Heart in a way.
I swore that I would NEVER upload this. Was having a bad day trying to loop "nice" acoustic guitar sounds and got frustrated so grabbed my Taylor and plugged it into a cheesy Effects box and straight into the looper. Started twiddling knobs and…

Lovin' the solos going on right after the 2 minute mark.
I liked it, interesting
I'm trying to picture your fingers lighting on fire when you play the lead. ;)

Just like on Lost, so it ends just as it begins.
so what? thats a great grove. I feel stoned just from listening to this groove.
I want to listen to the whole thing, great song writing.

sheesh, you are good, very good.
Wow dude, this something else isn't it, it has some of that early British Invasion vibe.
parts of this song are rooted in classic rock, it is far more imaginative than typical rock music. really love the scales/solos
the ending was quite well done

This is a pretty decent song.

Wistful. Right up my alley.
If someone has a problem with my personal views, stay the fuck off my music page!
@ Guest . . . yeah I probably would. ;)
@ Zack Facco I write them out, and then I play/record each part twice.

Hmm- this sounds so familiar . . . .
Love your stuff, but when will there be something new?!?!? Grrr . . . . :)
I like the chord choice as well.
Where is this Rose, and where can I meet her?
More polychords make their appearance . .. you're a sneaky composer, almost like Ralph Vaughn Williams meets Isaac Albeniz, if that makes sense.

Wonderful tones . . . soothing

I dig it. (I'm not criticizing, but a tiny bit of reverb/echo on the drums would be perfect.)
Your stuff seems to getting more adventurous and progressive, and I really like it. Why no thumbs up icon?
This is very good. P.S. I'd really love to hear you do something with a heavier Sabbathy/AIC-type riff underneath.
